Earthen jewellery is hand crafted art jewellery that remixes ancient themes with contemporary design to create a unique urban earthy and ethical style.

Earthen is about the earth, people and memory, and a recognition that beneath the layers we share enduring beliefs and common ground across both time and cultures. It is jewellery with stories to tell, speaking through the tool marks of the handmade. It remixes age old symbols with a contemporary view exploring themes of identity and environment.

Earthen promotes earth to earth, not to ashes. It uses recycled materials and avoids new gold and gems. There may be the homeopathic parts of a copper age knife reworked into a bracelet. There's definitely a hope that if a child was hurt mining the metal for that knife many years ago they are remembered today with a reprieve for another.

Everything is made from pure earth using recycled and re purposed metals. I have a local metal scrap yard where I source saved sheet and wire. A family run business for generations and now run by a woman. The sterling silver is the new recycled Ecosilver. Everything comes beautifully packaged and shipped in recycled and recyclable materials that are 100% biodegradable and the gift boxes come from a local company that paved the way in short run recycled boxes.

Ceramic elements and figures are made from hand dug clay with hand ground grog and sand textures. They are raku fired, and sometimes fired in a clamp kiln. They are little earthy symbols with womens' pottery traditions at their core.

You can find a little more about me and how how Earthen came about in my profile which is in the shop owner's link in the top right corner of the page.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy your journey through the layers of Earthen.

Returns and exchange details
I want you to be entirely happy with your purchase and accept returns up to 14 days from receipt of your order. Responsibility for return shipping costs are dependent on the nature of the return. Please contact me if you have any queries or problems.

Ceramics and jewellery have limited insurance with Royal Mail. Using a courier that insures these items can more than double the price of the order. Therefore, if a figure arrives broken I will personally replace it. This has happened only a couple of times so far but if you do receive a damaged piece please just send me snapshots showing how you found it with the packaging and I will get another to you.
Preferred payment is through PayPal either with a credit card or PayPal account.

I can also accept Direct Checkout payments and Etsy gift cards.
Shipping is within 1-3 working days if an item is ready to ship. Please be patient, I box everything at sale to allow for polishing etc and so it arrives in perfect condition.

Please bear in mind that the figures and pottery are specialist items and very occasionally they may take a little longer, so please order in plenty of time. I will keep you updated if there is a delay.

Shipping is by Royal Mail, 1st Class Recorded within the UK, signed and tracked where possible to overseas by the quickest service. This is mainly to ensure that ceramics are in transit as short a time as possible and they get to their correct destination in one piece. I'm afraid I can't offer surface shipping to overseas, there is no tracking available and a higher chance of breakage or loss due to extended transit times.

Combined shipping with two or more figures/pottery is often not feasible because of weight limits and costs. If I manage to combine or can use a different service I will refund any saving.

Occasionally clearance procedures are required and can cause delays. Buyers are responsible for all duties, taxes, levies or fees incurred at point of entry to the buyer's country in the rare event that your package is picked out.

Once shipped the transit times within the UK are 1-2 days. To Western Europe is around 4 days. To the U.S. it averages around a week and the rest of the world can vary from 1 to 2 weeks. Delays can occur but progress can be easily checked via the tracking number.
