Announcement   Knitting and stitching is my passion.
I love the texture of wool, I enjoy the repetitiveness of knitting and I love creating dolls from a variety of inspiration. I have combined my interest of historical and national costume into my doll designs. My dolls are based on Grodnertal/ Dutch Wooden Dolls.

My needlework designs are based on art, my biggest influence is Folk Art/ Naïve Art. I take my inspiration from history, costume, personal experience, nature and art.

My work is completely original and my designs are simple to make. All my knitting patterns are worked flat, with two needles, but they are easy enough to knit on the round.

I hope you enjoy looking at my patterns, as much as I enjoy designing them.

About

About Edith Grace Designs

My shop is named after my Granny Cox. Grace, as she was known, worked in the West End of London, as a seamstress in the fashion houses. She was evacuated to Deddington in Oxfordshire and met my Grampy. She became the local seamstress.
My doll designs are based on Grodnertal/ Dutch Wooden Dolls. My needlework designs are based on art, my biggest influence is Folk Art/ Naïve Art. All my patterns are original, my own ideas. It can take a few weeks to get the pattern correct, but I find it is worth it in the end.
All my patterns have a story, I have to be inspired to make something. My main sources are history, costume, nature, places I have visited, family holidays etc.
I hope you enjoy my work, as much as I have enjoyed designing them for you!
