About ThePorcelainJeweller

Sales 436
On Etsy since 2015

Welcome to my porcelain pottery and jewellery shop...

I work in my purpose-built studio adjacent to our home, down a leafy Somerset lane. Next to the wheel, a large window looks across a grassy meadow and I am often distracted by the cows and birds just outside. Sometimes our cat Rosie walks in, occasionally to sit down next to me but usually to remind me about dinner.

I make highly-polished porcelain pottery, focusing on the functional aspects of each piece but also inspired by its sensory qualities - its smoothness, colour, shape and balance. Nearly all my pieces are one-offs as I let each one grow into its own distinctive form, rather than looking for uniformity. My work is inspired by the tranquility I find in my studio and in the nature surrounding it. I often hold open studio events and clearance sales, so do please sign up to my mailing list on my website to be the first to hear about these.

I have been more creative than ever recently, expanding my range of everyday ceramics and - thrillingly for me - making new pieces of jewellery incorporating wheel-thrown porcelain elements. Each piece is completely unique, very tactile and pleasing to wear.

If you would like to commission a piece for a special occasion or as a gift, please do send me a message.

Please find me on instagram and twitter @ebceramics and pinterest and facebook

Care instructions

The bare porcelain can be cleaned with wet sandpaper to remove any marks, but do not sand the glazed sections as this will scratch.

If the porcelain can be removed from its cord or chain, it can go through the dishwasher in an empty section of the cutlery basket.

The cords are all washable by hand with a little liquid detergent.

Any silver will need polishing if it tarnishes.

Any wooden elements can be oiled with a little rapeseed oil to nourish it if it gets dry.
