How it all began

Welcome to Eskimo Frosting.

I have been an avid crafter for many years now and started jewellery making 12 years ago and although mainly self taught, I have attended silver jewellery making classes where I learnt how to make bangles and rings from sterling Silver using various techniques and processes.
I started out making jewellery as a hobby and to accessorise my own outfits with pieces not available on the high street, then people started to notice and they asked me to make custom pieces for them too. I found myself designing and making items to order, which I loved and was a real moral booster. Then life got in the way a bit and I lost my mojo for a while so jewellery making got put on the back burner along with my other passion hand made greetings cards.

I revisited my craft earlier this year and that old passion for the gems and precious metals came back. So much so that I decided to take the leap back into selling and Etsy seemed to be the perfect place as many other like-minded artist sell their items here.

Where did the name of the shop come from?

The name of the shop came about several years ago when I set up my blog Eskimo Frosting. I am a bit of a magpie and like all things sparkly so anything that sparkled became frosting when out shopping with my daughter. My husband then decided that he would have some input by adding Eskimo. his reasoning behind this? His company is Igloo Post Production and he liked the connection so Frosting became Eskimo Frosting and in his mind it all made perfect sense.

I hope you enjoy browsing my shop as much as I enjoy making the items in it and if you have any special requests for me I will try and accommodate wherever possible.

Care instructions

All jewellery items can be cleaned with a soft dry cloth.
Care should also be taken to avoid spraying you items with perfume as this may tarnish the finish of the metal and or gems.
A good rule of thumb is in the evening you jewellery should be the first thing off and in the morning the last thing on.

Gift wrapping and packaging

All of my items are gift boxed and tied with a ribbon unless otherwise stated in the description.

Custom and personalised orders

If a different size / length is required please message me and I will do my best to comply.
Once approved by the purchaser customer orders are non returnable unless faulty.

Can earrings be returned?

Yes if the seal on the bag is not removed or damaged. If the seal is removed or damage then unfortunately earrings for pieced ears can not be returned, unless damaged, due to health/hygiene reasons.

Can I return an item if I change my mind?

I am more than happy to accept returns as long as you contact me within 7 days of receipt and the item is returned undamaged within 14 days of receipt. If you would like to exchange your item this can be done within 21 days of receipt. Please note that the buyer is responsible for postage when returning the item. The only exception to this is in the case of earrings for pierced ears which can not be returned if the seal on the packaging has been broken.

What to do if my item is faulty?

Please contact me straight away if your item arrives damaged indicating which of the following you require:

1. Return the item for a full refund
2. Return the item for a repair
3. Exchange the item for a different product

In the event that your purchase is damaged on arrival you can request a replacement or a refund. All postage will be refunded to the purchaser should they wish an exchange a repair or a refund.

The item should be returned within 14 days of receipt.

How do I care for my sterling silver gold vermeil jewellery?

Polish your item with a soft dry cloth after wear. Never spray perfume on your jewellery as this will tarnish the finish. Never swim or bath in your jewellery. Always store your gold vermeil jewellery in a sealed bag to prevent tarnishing.
