Announcement   NEW SHOP UP DATE PLANNED FOR AUGUST.

All our raw fleeces have either been sheared from our own sheep or have been sourced from small local farms here in the Cambrian Mountains of Wales. They are hand selected, and sorted, with the hand spinner and felt maker in mind, all fleece is fully skirted with minimal vegetable matter. We are registered with the British Wool Marketing Board and do our best to help promote and supply British fleece and knitting yarns all over the World.
I always hand pick fleeces to ensure their quality. Processing the fleece takes time, and although I do try to remove all vegetable matter , some may still be in the fleece. I hope you enjoy looking at my shop, and PLEASE message me if you have a question.

About

Everything Woolly , and wonderful.

In our quite valley above the Cothi Vale we run our small sheep farm, Cwmgogerddan (Cwm means a valley, and Gogerddan means a step up , or rise) Our farm sits higher up than our neighbours so I suppose it makes sense :). When we first moved here we arrived with our commercial flock of Downland ewes, but over the years have replaced these with Welsh Mountain, Welsh Mules, Shetlands, Gotlands, and their X breds, Cotswold, Teeswater, and Texel X's.
I aim to supply you with top quality fleece, that has either been sourced from our own farm, or from a select group of farms here in Carmarthenshire.
There's such a choice of different sheep breeds here in our part of Wales, that I am able to offer quite a good range of fleece. I NEVER buy fleece un-seen, and work closely with local farmers to bring you the best that Wales has to offer. All my fleece has been hand selected, and I am usually on the farms at shearing time picking my fleeces with care.
Most farmers shear around June-July, so this is the time when I have my greatest selection of fleece, I aim to always be selling fleece in the same year that it was sheared. Fleece will yellow over time, and can deteriorate if stored for too long without washing.
We aim to promote the use of sheep fleece wherever possible, and welcome any feed back, or inquiries from our customers, if we haven't got the weight of fleece you are looking for then message us, and we will do our best to help you.

Hello, and welcome to my shop.
My aim is to provide quality fleece, and fibre wherever possible from my own , or local farms. I keep a commercial flock of Texel X bred sheep, plus a growing flock of fibre sheep, which comprises of Shetlands, Gotlands, and their X bred British Stein, Teeswaters, Llanwenog's, plus Llanwenog, Gotland, and Cotswold X bred. These sheep are kept primarily for their fleece, and every effort is made to provide the hand spinner, or felt maker with clean, fresh, skirted fleece.
I also stock commercially dyed Merino tops, which are sourced from non-mulesed sheep flocks, naturally coloured British breeds including B.F.L, Shetland, Swaledale, Suffolk, Herdwick, Teeswater, and Jacob etc, as I am always using these in my wet, and needle felting work and in the craft workshops that I run. Being a farmer that originates from Somerset I also have friends in England that are willing to work with me to access to fleece that is not available here in Wales.
I hope my customers will become fleecy friends, and continue to shop with me.
