4 out of 5 starsThese name tags arrived very quickly. They are name tags for our burlap Christmas stockings, and they look great. I just imagined that the letters would be more of a red than a pink.

Creating a cosy, inviting, fun and love filled home.
THE BEGINNING
About two years ago I started feeling a compulsion to make my own cushions (I’ve always been the type of person that loves to create a cosy nest, and can happily spend hours shopping for things like cushions and woolly blankets!). I had some time on my hands as I had just completed my degree (creative writing) so I got a lovely sewing machine and was soon happily making the quirky yet cosy cushions i'd always wanted for my home.
It wasn't long before I was thinking about selling my creations - art and crafts have always important to me and it seemed like the perfect time to take my creativity to the next level. I was soon incorporating items from other creative mediums into my product range such as hand painted porcelain and other textile items like lavender pillows and bunting. At the beginning of 2012 I opened my Etsy shop and Free Spirit Designs was born.
INSPIRATION
I live in a country village in Wiltshire and am very much inspired by nature and rural living. Every day I walk through the fields and woods with my dog and marvel at the colours, shapes and smells around me – I love the way that the landscape is always changing - there is always something new to experience and be inspired by.
On a more emotional level, home and family are things I care about a great deal. I love to create a cosy and inviting nest for my self and my loved ones and it gives me a great deal of pleasure to make interior décor items designed to help to create this kind of environment in other people’s homes.
MY DESIGN STYLE
When it comes to interior decor I like things fresh, colourful and a bit quirky - I like it when something makes me smile. Love and love hearts are never far away!
WORKSPACE AND MATERIALS
I am lucky enough to have a dedicated art and crafting space in the form of a lovely big shed in our garden and all my materials are stored in there. It’s a great place to work on larger projects, especially if I want to leave everything set out undisturbed ready for me to do more work on another day. With smaller projects I tend to bring them into the house to work on, especially during the winter months!
I am particular about the quality of materials and only use products that have a nice 'feel' to them and ideally, good eco credentials. This also extends to my packaging - my mail bags and bubble wrap are all biodegradable.

Natalie Butterworth
Owner
I live in the UK in a beautiful Wiltshire village and i love country life. I've always been a maker and especially enjoy creating a hand crafted home. I like interiors that are fresh, quirky, colourful, comfortable, cosy and most of all full of love.
Shop policies
I only use high quality materials that have a nice 'feel' to them. I also try to use environmentally sustainable products and practices wherever possible - for example i tend to favour linen or organic cotton over regular cotton as these fabrics have better eco-credentials, with less pesticides etc used in production. I also like to use bamboo and wool as these are great eco friendly materials with health giving properties.

Delivery
At busy times such as the run up to Christmas, shipping times may be longer in which case i will put an announcement up on the front page of my shop advising customers.
I use environmentally friendly packaging including biodegradable or re-used bubble-wrap, biodegradable mail bags, and recyclable and sometimes re-used cardboard.
For orders within the UK i use Royal Mail 1st class post, or standard parcel, depending on the weight of the package. For international deliveries i tend to go with the recommendation of the post office (if a customer has mailing preferences i am happy to try and accommodate them).
GIFT WRAPPING
If you would like an item gift wrapped and sent directly to the recipient just let me know in the ‘notes to seller’ section at checkout.
If you would like a personal message on the gift tag just let me know this at checkout too
This service is complimentary! x
CHRISTMAS LAST POSTING DATES!! (2015)
(These dates are based on the Royal Mail recommendations. Posting on or before these dates is not a guarantee that your goods will arrive in time for Christmas and i would recommend ordering as early as you can to avoid disappointment. I am happy to post after these dates as long as you are aware that there is an increased risk that your items will not arrive in time for Christmas day!)
