Announcement    Welcome to 'Fit to be loved's online shop.

* All Fit to be loved animal sculptures are one of a kind, lovingly handmade by myself from soft beautiful wools. I use the art of needle felting using just wool and a barbed needle to create an original sculpture, there is no pattern just many hours of time and imagination. Some sculptures do contain a wire frame but the rest is 100% wool. Give one as a gift or keep it for yourself as a treat.

* I sell 'made to order' animals so please do pay for the item in the shop and then contact me with any extra details of your request. I would be happy to accommodate your preferred pose for the animal, favourite details to emphasize etc.

* If you choose a pet portrait I will need clear close up photos of all angles of your pet including underneath. I will aim to make the sculpture as realistic to your pet as possible but remember that this is art so it is also my interpretation.

* If you can't see a certain animal in the shop that you would like please do send me a 'custom order' request and I will send you a quote.

******Please note that orders can take several weeks to complete (possibly a few months if I have other commissions to work on). If you need it urgently e.g. for a special birthday please let me know before purchasing to check I can make it for you in time *******

I offer free delivery to those in the UK and will gladly deliver outside the UK for an extra fee to cover costs (see individual postage prices).

If you would like to learn how to needle felt why not head over to fittobeloved.com for free needle felting tips and tutorials.

About Fit to be loved

WHY 'FIT TO BE LOVED'?

'Fit to be loved' (or deserving of love) is the meaning of my name; Amanda.
I so love that our names have meanings. As a child I always knew the meaning of my name and at times my parents would remind me of it. However it is only more recently that I have begun to believe in these four little words for real. I haven’t always liked or loved myself but I suppose you could say I am now all grown up or at least trying to grow up although still enjoy being childlike at times. I now have much more confidence in who I am. Through my journey in life I know in my heart that I have been and am loved by my family, my lovely husband, friends and very much so by God.

Anyway this is not to go on about how I (and you too of course) deserve to be loved, but more to introduce myself to you as the creator of ‘Fit to be loved’ and explain where the name of my little business comes from.

I experience lots of joy in making each needle felted piece. My desire is that you will find my creations enjoyable too. My hope is that they are (as the name suggests); ‘fit to be loved’.

HOW DID I DISCOVER NEEDLE FELTING?

I have always been creative (mainly drawing animals in my teens) but rarely had the time to follow my hobbies due to my busy working life. But that all changed when I stumbled upon some beautiful needle felted animals whilst surfing the web in June 2013. I thought to myself that I would just love to have a go.

So I watched some tutorials on YouTube to get an idea of what you had to do and invested in needles, wool and foam pad. Once holding that wool I just knew what to do. I made a ball, and then started to sculpt some ears and it became a bunny. I haven’t looked back since! I started felting in the July 2013 and quickly set up my blog of tutorials (www.fittobeloved.com) to share what I had discovered with others. I can’t believe I waited till my late thirties to find such an amazing art form.

WHAT DO I LOVE MOST ABOUT NEEDLE FELTING?

Needle felting is therapeutic and relaxing, distracting your mind from the busyness of the day!

I can create intricately detailed animals with character just with a needle, some wool and a sprinkling of love. Creating gives me so much satisfaction especially when I add a smile and eyes to each sculpture which brings it to life and adds personality. What a joy our heavenly father must have had to make each one of us!

This is a real hobby for me as well as a business for me. Seeing the joy on a person’s face on receiving something I have made is so wonderful.

I love nature walks and photography so once I have made an animal I love to take it into a wild setting for a photo-shoot against nature’s backdrop (my garden or local park). People walking their dogs think I am a little crazy but hey it gives me the photos I need to display what I have made.

I also take photos with my phone as I go along and these are what I use for my tutorials for you to enjoy.

Why not join me and try needle felting today!! Look through my tutorials quick reference page on my blog for ideas, tips and tutorials.(fittobeloved.com).
You can also see my creations and watch my work in progress on Facebook (fittobelovedproducts) and Instagram (fit_to_be_loved).

Or favourite this shop and look out for new animals sculptures as I post them up ...

Much love,

Amanda

Thank you for buying from my shop. All needle felted items are made with the best of care in a smoke free environment. They take many hours of felting and are unique one offs. Please note that these are not toys but lovable one of a kind collectibles so please do not play with, brush or pull fibres and keep somewhere safe away from spillages etc as being wool items they should not be washed. If this is an animal with long fur, overhandling can overfelt the fibres and fibres can pull out if tugged at. Please keep away from pets. They are not intended for children under 12 years old.

Please do leave me a review of what you thought of your purchase, if you would recommend me to others.

For all custom creations you will receive progress and final photos of your purchase before I send it to you. Please let me know early on if you need me to amend anything. Please note that the change must be slight and reasonable as it would not be possible for me to make huge changes (e.g change of pose/ main colours/ major features) due to the nature of the way these sculptures are created. I will aim to make your animal as close to the real animal as possible but note that this is art so it is also my own interpretation.

If you are unhappy with your item (due to postage damage) or do not receive it please notify me within 3 working days so I can look into the issue and arrange for a refund where necessary. On receipt of a returned item (within 21 days) I will ensure you receive a refund within 5 working days. Please note that postage costs to return the item to me will be your responsibility.
All items I send are covered by postage insurance and are tracked so to claim for damage during postage I will need proof of damage please to make a claim.

Please contact me to discuss any issues. I hope to help resolve them as soon as possible.
Payment
Once payment has been received for already-made creations I will send you the item (dispatched as per the order page).
Custom/made to order items require payment please before I start to create them as I will often need to order in new wool to make them.
