I’m Catherine, a Welsh textile artist, living and working from my studio in North Wales, surrounded by beautiful countryside.

When I work on large pieces, the creative process is a very fluid thing for me. Sometimes I start with a clear objective in mind, working from sketches. Sometimes I just have a loose idea, and start by cutting shapes and playing with placing and stitching. It seldom looks how I initially envisaged and that is what makes it exciting. Smaller pieces are often more predictable, and I regularly portray bucolic landscapes, coastal and nautical, flora and fauna.
