As of the 25th of May 2018 the EU is introducing the general data protection regulation. As such if you are a buyer from the EU as a seller I have to let you know how will I be using any private details you may be sharing with me during a transaction or whilst interacting on Etsy.

This Privacy Policy describes how and when I collect, use, and share information when you purchase an item from me, contact me, or otherwise use my services through Etsy.com or its related sites and services.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of third parties that I do not own or control, including Etsy or any third party services you access through Etsy. You can reference the Etsy Privacy Policy to learn more about its privacy practices.

As a seller here on Etsy I have to follow the regulations set out by Etsy in their own terms and conditions. They are the providers of the service on their platform for me to advertise and sell my items and all transaction are taking place through their online shopping platform.

How I use the data you share through your transaction with me:

During the transactions on Etsy; you enter into an agreement with Etsy which involves providing me with your full name and shipping address; as well as a means of communicating with you electronically i.e. message you in relation to your order.
You may also choose to provide me with additional personal information (for a custom order of jewellery), if you contact me directly.

During my interaction with "you" the "buyer" - I will contact you to let you know that I have processed your order or if I have queries about the order.
You may also chose to contact me regarding the order; if specific details need to be adjusted.

The details you have shared regarding the shipping address and method of payment will be held on the Etsy site as part of the automatic invoice/receipt generated by Etsy.
Your name and address will be used to ship the item to you and as such will be shared with third party delivery partners. Recorded delivery items will require that the full address is recorder by the delivery company for tracking purposes and will show on the receipt issued by them- which I need to keep for accounting purposes. All delivery companies used will be GDPR compliant entities themselves; and will enter the same legal obligation in relation to your personal data; as all companies in Europe.

On my offline records - you the buyer will only be registered as a transaction number.

Should my financial records be audited; I may need to show my auditors a trail of the transactions for legal and tax purposes; and at that point I may need to show them the invoices issued by Etsy in relation to all of my transactions with my buyers.

I do not hold any bank details about the transaction with you, as all payments are processed by Etsy on my behalf.

Any disputes regarding payment will be dealt with via Etsy - unless legal proceedings are required.

I encourage all buyers that they be upfront with me regarding their data; as under GDPR you retain the right to keep information regarding you private and confidential - unless it needs to be revealed to comply with local or international law.

Any buyer who has completed at least one purchase from my online store will receive an automated 10% discount voucher; which you are not under any obligation to use.

Any visitor to my site who has "liked one of my items" may receive a discount voucher of 10% as a message, you are under no obligation to use. This is my thank you for your visit.


How long do I keep your data?
I retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with my services and as described in my Privacy Policy. However, I may also be required to retain this information to comply with my legal and regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce my agreements. I generally keep your data for the following time period: 4 years.

I may store and process your information through third-party hosting services in the US and other jurisdictions. As a result, I may transfer your personal information to a jurisdiction with different data protection and government surveillance laws than your jurisdiction.

Your Rights

If you reside in certain territories, including the EU, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal information. While some of these rights apply generally, certain rights apply only in certain limited cases. I describe these rights below:

- Access. You may have the right to access and receive a copy of the personal information I hold about you by contacting me using the contact information below.
- Change, restrict, delete. You may also have rights to change, restrict my use of, or delete your personal information. Absent exceptional circumstances (like where I am required to store data for legal reasons) I will generally delete your personal information upon request.
-Object. You can object to (i) my processing of some of your information based on my legitimate interests and (ii) receiving marketing messages from me after providing your express consent to receive them. In such cases, I will delete your personal information unless I have compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using that information or if it is needed for legal reasons.
-Complain. If you reside in the EU and wish to raise a concern about my use of your information (and without prejudice to any other rights you may have), you have the right to do so with your local data protection authority.
