Here at Gekko we love that Etsy has not lost its personality and that it is still about individuals.

It has been a great few years during which we have been enjoying selling and growing with this wonderful marketplace.

As a result of this growth we now work slightly differently from the way we used to.

Whilst always aware that in order to respect Etsy's integrity we had to maintain the artisanal element that started it all, we became a bit more popular and, with more exposure, we found that we could no longer fulfil the requests we were getting from customers in the traditional way, so we welcomed the news that Etsy allowed their featured businesses to outsource.
We gradually started to do that with the production of our designs, properly instructing outside manufacturers.

We have now established a working relationship with a small family run business in India in a village called Pushkar, Mahesh Dani.

Living in London we are inspired by the great mix of different cultures and styles we are lucky enough to be surrounded by.

We are open to contamination and constantly looking at nature, trying to put a different spin on things.

We try to stay away from mainstream and as well as making products inspired by the UK great music and festival scenes, we also try to explore more niche markets, making fashion that the Steampunk and fantasy/cosplay communities might want to wear.

As of the beginning of 2016 Gekko has one leather free, so the pocket belts you currently see in our shop are made of VEGAN LEATHER.

We love being able to communicate with buyers and when they post us photos of looks we have helped create.

For all these reasons we love selling on Etsy, but most importantly because out there is no other platform that's as funky as Etsy it.
