Announcement    I am an artist who specialises in highly-detailed travel prints of well loved places around Britain. Each illustration captures the beauty and small details of each location. This means my work takes that little bit longer to produce but I feel the end result is worth it.

I draw all of my illustations in my shop by hand using an array of digital brushes, which work to emulate a painterly effect. There are no photo filters used, no special effects or Photoshop wizardry anywhere on my paintings, just painstaking art. Each shadow, brick, stone and wave is carefully painted with a little artistic licence to produce a realistic effect, which carefully emulates the subject matter. I avoid crudely drawn trees, bands of jagged shapes or repetitive blocks of colour on my work. When you look closely, you'll see the level of detail not often found in modern illustrations and travel prints today.

I use the finest quality art paper for my prints, which gives them beautiful vibrancy of colour and ensures they don't fade or yellow over time.

Hello, welcome to my shop!

I’m Geraldine Burles, an artist who specialises in drawing highly-detailed retro travel posters of well-loved places around Britain. My vintage art captures the beauty and intricate details of each special place I draw. This means my work takes that little bit longer to produce but I feel the end result is worth it.

I love drawing beautiful old towns and villages, as well as beaches and coastal areas.

I have always loved the retro travel art of the 1930s and wanted to capture their beauty with a contemporary twist, using my own style of drawing. The vintage seaside prints and Art Deco posters were commissioned in the 1930s to advertise rail travel and boost tourism. They are now much loved for their beauty, simplicity and nostalgia of a bygone era.

I use the finest quality art paper for my prints, which gives them beautiful vibrancy of colour and ensures they don't fade or yellow over time. This gives my customers the highest quality product that will last, whether it is that special gift or a present for their home.

All of my products are British designed and made, from my luxury tea towels produced in Leek, to my cards and prints produced locally to me in Essex.

Frequently asked questions
What is the appeture for an A4 print?

A4 prints have an appeture of 185mm by 270mm - this is the actual printed area of your print. I have left a white border around this printed area to allow for easy mounting and framing, so that it doesn't cover your print.

What is the appeture for an A3 print?

A3 prints have an appeture of 255mm by 380mm - this is the actual printed area of your print. I have left a white border around this printed area to allow for easy mounting and framing, so that it doesn't cover your print.

Is my print shiny or matt?

All my prints are printed on the finest cotton based art paper. The finish has a matt, smooth texture without any shine, and the cotton fibres are just visible, giving you a print of outstanding quality, similar to a fine art giclee print.

How to care for my print

Your print uses the best light-fast inks and, together with the outstanding paper, will not fade or yellow over time, unlike some cheaper shinier stocks on the market.

Can I order a personalised print?

Yes. I am happy to take personalised orders, pleaese email me your request in more detail. Processing times may be longer for these orders.

When will my print be delivered?

I process all orders within 3 working days and ship them out to you within this timeframe. If you need your order more quickly, pleaese email me and I will be more than happy to help get your order to you more quickly.
