My Ant arrived yesterday and I absolutely love him! I am a huge fan of recycled art pieces; I love how it all comes together. Thank you!

Love the wood wasp sculpture! It was a commission, well, where else would you be getting one ?! John based his interpretation on what he saw of them while working in the woods. He is a real artist, with a real understanding for the wild creatures. Even better than just an artist - a true craftsman. Thanks John and Amanda. Alan

About

Green hand Sculpture began as a business in 2013. This was a name for the Facebook page I used, artist John Kennedy Brown, as a free online gallery space for my sculptures.

At that time I worked as a woodsman, felling trees and hewing timber for a living. My artistic skills were being exercised by practising chainsaw carvings – usually in situ, in the woods where I worked.

Initially the Facebook page was intended just to showcase those chainsaw carvings.

From the inertia created by the success of my woodcarvings, I began to put together a workshop for the purpose of metalworking; an interest that had begun several years earlier, whilst at art school.

Using just a decrepit gasless welder bought at a junk sale, I began producing small, experimental pieces as gifts for friends and family. The photos were shared through the Facebook page. Interest and subsequently commissions flooded in and the business grew to accommodate.

Nowadays I am a full-time artist, producing sculptures that are sent worldwide. My work is now sought-after by galleries and private buyers alike.

I changed the name of my business to JK Brown to avoid confusion!

I gather pieces of metal that have been thrown away. I assemble them into effigies, homages to the beautiful, and richly diverse natural world around us, that is squeezed into marginal corners of land every day by people in favour of things new.

I don't accept cancellations
But please contact me if you have any problems with your order.
The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)
  • Digital downloads
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
If you wish to return a sculpture you may contact us within 7 days of receiving.

You must then carefully package the sculpture and send it back to us. When we have received the sculpture back in perfect condition then we will issue you a full refund. We do not pay any of the shipping costs.

If you live in a country in the EU, then as per EU regulations, we will pay for the initial and the return shipping.

If a sculpture arrives to the buyer damaged then we will cover the cost of returning it to us to fix and re-ship to the buyer.
If this is a fault with the way it has been handled by the shipping companies then we will require the buyer to take photo's of the packaging and the sculpture, before they repack it and send it back to us, so we can then claim damages from the delivery companies.
Payment
If you wish to cancel an order then please get in touch with us as soon as possible.
Shipping
We will send all sculptures tracked and signed for delivery. We also insure each package for loss or damage up to the cost of the sculpture.
If we have over-charged you for shipping then we will reimburse you the cost.
We try to be accurate with shipping costs but due to the nature of the materials John uses some of the sculptures will be heavier than others. We try to take account of this in the listed shipping prices.
Where possible we may use recycled packaging to ship the sculptures. This is to cut down the cost both to the customer and to the Earth.
Additional policies and FAQs
These sculptures are intended for inside. If you wish your sculpture to be for outside use then please let us know and we can arrange to have it sprayed with a car lacquer for an extra cost of £30.
