About

Specialising in individually handcrafted, original functional and sculptural ceramics.

I come from an incredibly beautiful area of Australia called the Dandenong Ranges on the edge of Melbourne, Victoria. It's a forest covered mountain, a little paradise pocket. Growing up with this, gave me the great appreciation of nature that is visible in most of my work, and my desire to always be surrounded by such beauty and calm.

Inspired by natural patterns and colours in forest and ocean environments, and reflecting on the precariousness of life in all forms, I attempt to translate the essence of these intricate and interwoven designs of nature into my pieces. My work often has a sense of fluidity, of life and adventure, whilst holding the fragility of nature’s details in a grasp…much like myself!

Working from a cozy studio in my home on the edge of the South Downs NP near Winchester, I create functional porcelain ceramics for everyday enjoyment, alongside unique original sculpture.

My pieces are individually handcrafted either on the potter’s wheel and altered to my unique style, or created from hand rolled and hand printed slabs. With each process, I give particular attention to the finishing and shaping of the surface and decoration to achieve the desired effect. Colour and glaze are carefully added to ensure each piece is both beautiful and functional to use. All items are fired twice up to 1260 degrees Celsius, which means they are perfectly safe for use in microwaves, dishwashers, and ovens.

I hold a Bachelor of Visual Art specialising in ceramics, and have been exhibiting and selling my work for over 15 years. I have enjoyed embarking on professional development creative residencies at the Sanskriti Kendra in New Delhi, India in 2009 and at The Banff Centre, Canada in 2011.

My passion and the excitement for the journey of each piece all the way from the infancy of an idea to it's new home, is what propels me through the nerves, tears and joy of working with clay, a natural earthen material.

Thank you for checking out my shop. I create decorative functional and sculptural ceramics that can be enjoyed with every use or simply just to admire.

My functional tableware is food safe and I never use lead glazes. I use a porcelain clay and fire my glazes to cone 6 or higher, so everything can be put in the microwave and dishwasher, although I do support hand washing as some pieces are a little more delicate and a work of art.

Items are made one at a time, carefully by hand without any molds or casts. I hand sculpt, wheel-throw and alter and/or carve all my designs. This ensures that you will be getting a truly unique, quality piece.

2. via etsy's direct checkout, using any major credit or debit card.
Shipping
All items are packed with love (and lots of bubble wrap and recycled paper) to ensure a safe delivery. All items will be posted 1-2 days from the day of purchase. I use recycled packing & shipping supplies when available as I care about the environment.

UK CUSTOMERS you should usually receive items within three - four working days of order. I send by standard first or second class post or recorded delivery within the UK. If you need something quickly or require it to be recorded delivery, please get in touch - we can usually work something out!

WORLDWIDE CUSTOMERS - in most destinations, you should usually expect to receive items within seven working days. Please note, I cannot take responsibility for the postal service. At busy times, items may take longer, so please allow extra time if possible - delivery times cannot be guaranteed. Items are not considered lost in the mail until a month has passed.
FYI, your order will begin its journey with the Royal Mail, which is the UK's postal system (usually sent via International Economy - if you require it Tracked & Signed please get in touch and I will make the adjustment for you as it's usually a bit more. I would automatically do this for all items over £100). The Royal Mail will deliver that to your country, at which point it will have to clear customs, and then will be passed over to your country's postal service. If your order is delayed in the post, I recommend in the first instance that where possible, you check with your local postal service's depot or post office.

Please note: Any customs charges or local taxes are the responsibility of the customer.
Additional policies and FAQs

If the item is to be a gift, then gift wrapping and tagging can usually be arranged, please message me if you need this service.
