About

Heather Mathieson - Printmaker

I started playing about with lino in 2013 and instantly adored it. The whole process is wonderfully methodical, yet there are endless means of refining and developing the finished piece through experimenting with new techniques and materials.

I also produce wheel-thrown ceramics. I was first introduced to pottery at a young age and over the last few years my interest has developed considerably. I produce stoneware and porcelain pieces, which I decorate with various techniques. I often merge my two loves - printmaking and ceramics - by decorating pots and bowls with an image of one of my linocut prints. I find that the simplicity of the ceramics and the clean detail of the prints compliment one another.

I am always experimenting with new ideas, techniques and processes. The possibilities are endless.

Frequently asked questions
Gift wrapping and packaging

Ceramics are packed well in strong cardboard box, with bubble wrap and foam chips, to reduce the risk of damage.

All prints are sent in a protective cellophane bag with backing board in a reinforced envelope.

Care instructions

All my ceramics are dishwasher safe. However, I would advise that pieces that are decorated with transfer images should be washed by hand.
