I dye exclusively on premium New Zealand Merino and the unique single-flock 'Haunui' NZ Halfbred combed wool tops, which are suitable for spinning and felting. As I'm a spinner and felter myself, I'm very aware that fibre quality is every bit as important as colour.

Everything in my store is hand-dyed by me in small batches; mostly I dye to your order, although I do carry some stock.

Second and subsequent items purchased are bundled so as to minimise shipping costs. All international orders are shipped via airmail; I'm sorry, but tracking is not available.

My home and workspace are pet and smokefree.

Please note that differences in monitor calibration can affect how you see my colours.

About

From a 9 to 5 job to 12 hours a day with fibre!

I used to sit in an office all day and commute to and from my country home. While my husband drove, I would knit, dropping stitches, making pattern mistakes and generally feeling overworked and frustrated.

When I was made redundant, I was devastated - then I got another job. That was a disaster. I actually ran away! One day, I just turned my car around halfway to the office and never went back.

Now I wake up in the morning, see my husband off to work and spend my day dyeing, drying and packing wool to send to woolcrafters all over the world.

When I'm not doing that, I'll be making felt, spinning or carding wool into batts. In the evening I plan my next day while I knit or crochet - instead of an 8-hour day, I often spend 12 hours with my fibre, but you know what? I'm really happy to do that!

Of course, I still have to spend time in front of my monitor, or under studio lights photographing what I've made, but those times are fun and rewarding, too, because I WANT to do it!

Hi! I love handmade. My aim is to provide top quality products and supplies to my customers, so they can enjoy the handmade experience as much as I do.

Q: Is all your wool NZ Sourced?
A:Yes, it is all grown and processed in New Zealand.

Q: Do you dye to order?
A: I carry very little stock so I do dye to order, mostly. This means there may be a lag of 3-10 days for me to get your order dyed and away to you. I keep contact with buyers if their order is further delayed.

All my wools are hand-dyed, so no two batches will be the same. Expect colour variations, they are much more fun to create with than bland, homogeneous commercial preparations.

My gradient colours come in two flavours: Halfbred and Merino. You can, of course swap between these two stocks but there will be colour differences; Merino gives brighter, clear colours while the halfbred, being a coloured wool, will always give a more muted shade. If you want a special colour, you can always contact me with your needs.

Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalised orders

Returns and exchange details
I want you to be happy with your purchase! My return and exchange policies are below - I can be flexible for individuals, but please take care when choosing items, particularly outside New Zealand, as I cannot be responsible for postage on exchanged items. I promise to deal with any returns in a timely manner.

If you wish to exchange an item, please be aware that I will charge shipping on it.
I will replace any faulty batch of wool or item supplied on receipt of the faulty item, under the terms of the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act. This means that I will repair or replace for manufacturing faults only (minor individual colour variations between handcrafted items do not constitute a manufacturing fault). Refunds will only be given in exceptional circumstances, such as where an item cannot be repaired and/or an identical or near-identical item cannot be supplied. Refunds can only be made when an item has been returned for inspection.

You must contact me as soon as possible when you want to return an item. Postage cost to return the item to me is your responsibility.

All items must be returned in adequate packaging, correctly addressed and proof of posting must be retained in case of a returned item being lost in the post.

In the event of an item being damaged or lost in the post, New Zealand Post requires documentation from both the sender and the receiver of a parcel to investigate a claim and items cannot be replaced without this proof.
Payment
Please pay using PayPal within 7 days of purchase.
Shipping
My shipping is calculated on weight; when buying more than one item, the first item has a larger cost, then each additional item has a smaller additional cost.

Shipping is by International Air, and cannot be tracked, as this service isn't offered in my country.

All items are securely packed in new packaging.

Please check before buying as to the customs import limits for your home country. Any customs charges, taxes etc charged by the destination country on international goods are your responsibility.

Because I try to keep my prices at a minimum, no wholesale prices are available.
Privacy
I respect your privacy and will never share your details; I will not store your details on my computer or within my own records beyond the time I need to keep them for the purposes of verifying that you have received your order, which I deem to be six months maximum.
I will not add your details to my email contacts or any other mailing list without your express permission or contact you about any other matter than current orders made through my Etsy store.
