Announcement   Heritage Soap has moved!

We are now located in the south of Northumberland close to Bellingham. We have a larger and more secluded location with wonderful uninterrupted views towards the north of the county.

We also recently became a stockist to 2 shops for the National Trust, one at Seahouses and the other on Lindisfarne. This was such a proud moment but coupled with the inability to produce fresh soap while moving, has led to a temporary drop in stock levels.

We anticipate being able to re-introduce stocks of the entire range early in August. And, as we head into September, there should be little to no shortage at all.
We hope the temporary absence of some of our range isn’t too disappointing for you and hope to see you again soon.

Our continued success and growth has been organic in nature, and as we build, we learn. This journey is still exciting and energising for us and we continue to develop new ideas and have some great new additions planned for our range.

Heritage Soap UK will never stray from its core purpose, to make fine quality, pure and clean handmade soaps and skin care products. Made with love and care and attention to detail. We will only ever use pure and natural ingredients, which are often organic in origin.

We refuse to use man-made chemicals or artificial preservative.

We do not use palm oil, responsibly sourced or otherwise. Palm oil is a poor substitute for good quality oils or butters and just isn’t suitable for use in skincare in our opinion.
Attention to detail and good research enables us to achieve a very high standard of production, we continue to develop new products that are great to use as well as being gentle and caring to you and the environment.

Most of all, it is our loyal customers and stockists that make us great. Thank you for standing by us and sharing our wonderful journey.

About

Small steps to a more sustainable life style.

Heritage Soap has been built on the success of the Hertfordshire Soap Company.

My mission?

To bring back the humble bar of Soap. For centuries civilizations across the world have relied on this perfect product to clean, deodorize and sanitize not only our skin, but our clothing and food as well.

But today’s culture, by force of corporatism, has shifted us towards a liquid, or gel-like substance made with things that we believe are less than pure.
Soap is by far the economic, environmental and health conscious choice. While liquids slip down the plug hole unused, Soap keeps on building its rich lather as you use it, distributing its health and cleansing qualities, not to mention its wonderful aromas. Soap, made properly, really is the building block to good skin and a balanced complexion, due mainly to its pure and natural ingredients. The benefits of natural soap are numerous and diverse so join us in the soap revolution!

Pure & natural soap is one of the oldest traded commodities in recent history. It is part of what, and who, we are and its history reaches beyond just being a simple detergent.
My aim is to develop a range of exceptional skin care products using luxury and responsibly-sourced ingredients that will treat and nourish the skin, while caring for it in a natural way. A devotion to good research and development ensures a level of quality that makes these products luxurious, deeply caring and wonderful to use.

When I started making some lifestyle changes some years ago, I started to move away from corporate dominance in retail and tried to find ways of living a cleaner and more sustainable life where I found out how to be more independent and self-sufficient, well, as much as one can in the western world. This is when I discovered soap making and it quickly became clear that it ticked a whole lot of boxes for me.
It is creative and expressive, it makes ecological and financial sense for local communities to make their own soap. It’s quite artistic and requires good organisational skills and an attention to detail.

Like cooking it follows guidelines and within those guidelines are freedoms to experiment and create beautiful looking and wonderfully aromatic soaps that can create sensations that are often really quite sensual. My hobby quickly began to take over and before long it was consuming me, until November 2014 when I jumped in with both feet and made it my goal to make soap full time. So here I am with an Etsy shop and some bars of soap that I like very much, and I hope you do too.

If you buy a soap bar from me I truly thank you for being a part of this new and wonderful chapter in my life because for me, soap is a clean break from my past and an exciting step into the future.

Left school early to be a TV star! Ended up in a London bus, then a Sainsbury's delivery truck and now a soap maker. My family still think I'm famous and my wife is my biggest fan. Luckiest man alive!
