Lover of all things knitted. Love making rainbow and merino knits for kids and their grown ups.

I sell gorgeous chunky knits, have had the pleasure of knitting all the hats and scarves for the new Harry Potter shows, run parents and babies knitting groups and look after my toddler!

I grew up with wool all around me! My mum owned a fabulous knitting shop and from about the age of three I was her little 'helper' in the shop and sending out orders from home. My mum taught me the wonderful art of knitting. It's good for the mind body and soul! It's a beautiful craft that is a wonderful counter balance to fast living. It's all about creating something beautiful, lasting, sustainable and often knowing the sheep who have kindly given their wool to you! And it's a wonderfully meditative and stress relieving activity, particularly good when my toddler has gone to bed and I have a few precious hours to myself!
I started knitting very much as a hobby, then finally, I ran out of friends and family to give birthday pressies to (well almost, they obviously all still get knitted things from me but already have all the basic knitwear they could need!) So I now sell my lovely chunky knits to the lovely people out there who appreciate the magic of a handknitted item.

Two years ago I had a baby and my mission on maternity leave (apart from keeping my gorgeous baby alive!) was to find a way to make bringing the joy of knitting to people my main job, rather than going back to corporate life.

A crazy thing happened as I made this mission and I managed to land the gig of making the hats and scarves for the new Harry Potter shows! I have a fabulous team of grannies who help me, many of whom give the money they get from this to charity. We have so far dressed the cast of London, New York, Melbourne and a few more are in their way in the next year. The grannies and I are going global!!

I also run a parents and babies knitting group, which my toddler contributes extensively to (running round with needles, putting hats on people's heads, getting tangled up in wool etc!) And am about to start a second group. A fab way for new or not so new parents to unwind, lean a new skill that is great for the mind (and pnd), and have their little ones hang out and play with other lovely kids and babies.
