The Best Things Happen Organically

I have been knitting for the past several years. Mom taught my sister and I how to cast on and off one Christmas, and we all sat around, with our cousin, and knitted away all week. Like a scene from Little Women or something.

Over time, I just kept it up. After a spell, I realised that I had all of this stuff that I had been making, and nowhere to put it. You can only bother your family and friends with stuff for so long. So I opened this shop as an outlet and a way to practice and improve my skills. And people started buying my pieces.

The photography thing is ongoing. I take pictures nearly every day, for various and sundry reasons. The ones I put up for download here on Etsy are ones that I like to think have tat special je ne sais quoi. But I suppose you are the ultimate judges of that.

I am completely self-taught in the knitting realm, and most of my small projects are things that I have made up and tweaked over time. I generally don't use patterns, (only sometimes to compare sizing), but I am trying to push myself in new directions, but stay true to the things that have proved to be popular with my fans. And yes, I actually have fans.

I have also expanded my "empire" (tee hee) to include the Highland Fashionista style blog. You can visit me there at:

Welcome to my store! The things that you see listed on this site are all created by me in my home in the Scottish Highlands. I am of the opinion that many of us fear color in our wardrobes, even though we love it in our lives. Accessories are a perfect way to experiment with color without feeling like a moving target. I believe in using all of my materials, so often you will see interesting and unexpected combinations that are created from "extra parts". Above all, this is supposed to be fun, so Fear Not Color!

Accepted payment methods

Paypal Mastercard Visa American Express Gift card
Accepts Etsy Gift Cards and Etsy Credits
Returns and exchanges
I always try to do the right thing for my customers, so if you are not happy, please send me a note and I will do my best to resolve the matter. Because many of my sales are international, I treat all such situations on a case by case basis.
Payment
As I am in the UK, I prefer Paypal for transactions. However, if your circumstances are such that Paypal is not an option, please email me and I will work with you. Please note that you do not need to have a Paypal account to pay with a credit card. You can visit the Etsy help centre if you have trouble with checkout, they have a wonderful tutorials for this very thing. Any purchases that have not made payment or contacted me within three day time will be re-listed.
Delivery
I use the Royal Mail exclusively for small items, and have mostly found it very dependable. If you need a tracking number, expedited service or insurance, please let me know, I will work with you. (there may be an extra charge for these things on small items, but tracking and insurance is included in the shipping price on all items over $50) Generally, it takes about a week to 10 days for the mail to reach you in the US, less if you are in Europe, and if you are in Austrailia or Asia.....I'm not sure, I've been told everything from a week to nearly three! During busy holiday times, this can go out the window, as customs often gets backlogged. If you are sending something as a gift, please let me know, and I will happily package it accordingly for an extra 5 USD. When in doubt, drop me a line and we can resolve shipping dilemmas as a team.
Additional policies and FAQs
If you would like to send an item as a wrapped gift, please let me know. Generally, the cost will be an additional $5 for materials.
