Beautiful wool. I love that it's raw and natural-looking. It does have some variations in colour and thickness but I think that makes the wool even lovelier. Seller went out of her way to help with information about the wool, and the package was posted quickly and packed well. Very pleased with this purchase, thanks so much!

Our small flock of rare breed Shetland sheep

Our shop sells knitting yarn and handwoven scarves and throws, all made from our own pure Shetland wool.

We have a small flock of rare breed Shetland sheep on our smallholding in the Scottish Borders.
With such small quantities it was hard to find a mill that would process the fleece but The Natural Fibre Company in Cornwall has been extremely helpful and we are delighted with the yarn that they have produced for us. It is so pleasing to know that our wool has been handled with such care. We can even tell you the names of the sheep that your wool has come from!
This past year we have had the fleece processed into weaving yarn instead of knitting yarn. This weaving yarn has been carefully handwoven by Bovey Handloom Weavers in Devon into stunning scarves and throws. The fine quality of the fleece makes for a beautifully soft and comforting finish.
We hope you enjoy our products as much as we do.
