Ho iniziato questo progetto perché non riuscivo a trovare una guida scritta da qualcuno che l'avesse effettivamente fatto.
Qualche anno fa avevo un vecchio Intel NUC su uno scaffale. Sapevo che avrei potuto farci qualcosa di utile, ma non riuscivo a trovare una risorsa che me lo spiegasse come avrebbe fatto un amico esperto. Tutto ciò che trovavo era o troppo basilare ("ecco come accendere il computer") o troppo tecnico, dando per scontato che sapessi già cos'è Docker, perché mi serviva e come si integra con Home Assistant.
Ho quindi creato la mia configurazione per tentativi ed errori. Ho imparato a mie spese cos'era un bypass di Docker/UFW: eseguendo una scansione delle porte dal mio hotspot del telefono e scoprendo che Portainer era completamente esposto a Internet. Ho scoperto l'esistenza dell'impostazione di ripristino dell'alimentazione del BIOS dopo che un'interruzione di corrente ha lasciato il mio server offline per due giorni prima che me ne accorgessi. Ho imparato a usare MCP essendo la prima persona nella mia cerchia di amici a connettere Claude AI a un vero server domestico funzionante e a chiedergli "tutti i miei container sono in esecuzione?" da un treno pendolare.
Queste guide sono la risorsa che avrei voluto avere a disposizione. Ogni sezione è scritta sulla base di esperienze reali, non di documentazione. Ogni avvertimento deriva da un errore reale. Ogni consiglio è qualcosa che sto effettivamente applicando nella mia configurazione, proprio ora.

I started this because I couldn't find a guide that was actually written by someone who'd done it.
A few years ago I had an old Intel NUC sitting on a shelf. I knew there was something useful I could do with it — I just couldn't find a resource that explained it the way a knowledgeable friend would. Everything I found was either too basic ("here's how to turn on your computer") or way too deep in the weeds, assuming I already knew what Docker was, why I needed it, and how it related to Home Assistant.
So I built my own setup by trial and error. I learned what a Docker/UFW bypass was the hard way — by running a port scan on myself from my phone hotspot and finding Portainer wide open to the internet. I learned the BIOS power restore setting existed after a power outage left my server offline for two days before I noticed. I learned MCP by being the first person in my social circle to connect Claude AI to a real running home server and ask it "are all my containers running?" from a commuter train.
These guides are the resource I wished I'd had. Every section is written from real experience, not documentation. Every warning comes from a real mistake. Every recommendation is something I actually run in my own setup, right now.
