At Hoooked Handmade, I try to bring you items that you have never seen before that you can't find anywhere else. All items are handmade by me, Tara, the owner of Hoooked Handmade and Hoooked Soap.

I create for the pure joy of introducing something brand new to the world that didn't exist until I put it here.

Hoooked Handmade is a one-woman show. It starts with an idea. I take that idea, my yarn, and my hook and from nothing I create. I create an item, an object, a ware. I create for you to use, for you to admire, to keep you warm, and to warm your home.

Want to know a little bit about Tara, the one-woman show behind Hoooked Handmade? I'm a 28-year-old crochet artist living in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I crochet, make soap, work at a "day" job, and spoil the heck out of my dog! When I'm not doing the above, I'm just a normal girl spending time with her boyfriend, friends, and family.

Now for a little bit about my process. The items I bring to you at Hoooked Handmade are exclusive to me and my shop. I design each of my patterns from scratch, sometimes involving multiple sketches and drawings before I take them to graph where I can map out my stitches.

Some of my more detailed work (animals, flowers, words, etc.) start out as a drawing with pencil and paper first. From the paper and pencil sketch, I can graph out the design. And with the graph I'm able to translate my drawings into stitches and create original scarves, potholders, fingerless gloves, etc.

I specialize in picture crochet and happily accept custom orders.
