Gillian was wonderful to work with -- friendly, flexible, and easy to communicate with -- and the quilt she made was beautiful! She even did extra research to help save me money on shipping costs. Highly recommend.

These blankets are beautiful. This is the second one I have bought and it's a very special present for the little ones.

Gillian made me a set of custom scrunchies in Hufflepuff colours for my Harry Potter-mad daughter. They are fabulous and my daughter will adore them!

About

Handmade Quilts, Bags, Clothing and More...

Based in Glasgow, House of Mud design and make hand-made quilted goods including bags, accessories, clothing and soft furnishings with a focus on line, colour, and shape.

The quilting process not only reinforces the structure of each piece; it transforms the surface and texture of the fabric, becoming much more tactile and inviting to the touch.

Aiming to create pieces that are well constructed and functional, I am very interested in long-standing traditional sewing practices such as quilting, patchwork and bojagi, and bringing them into a contemporary light and function to make statement items that can go on to become ‘modern heirlooms’ themselves.

IN STORE

A selection of House of Mud items are available to buy at The Facility Shop in Edinburgh's Ocean Terminal shopping mall. Situated on the first floor, you can find some of our clothing items and stripey cushions, alongside the work of other amazing British based designers.

Shipping
I will always try to reduce your shipping costs where possible.

I may use the Royal Mail when possible if the item is small enough, however my preferred courier is MyHermes.

Signature will always be required upon delivery whatever method is used, I will always add insurance unless otherwise stated/requested, and tracking will also be included unless you do not wish this to happen.

Items will be wrapped in plastic/in a plastic bag and placed into a sturdy cardboard shipping box.

Please inform of the shipping address if it is different to the one you have listed on your account!

I will always try to dispatch items as soon as possible.

I do ship overseas. Please ask me in a conversation for a specific quote, and we can work it out.

If you are overseas, customs can delay packages by up to 6 weeks. This does not happen often but it can happen, so please take this into account.
Refunds and Exchanges
If you are unhappy with your purchase, get in touch as soon as you can and we will discuss a solution.

After you make your purchase and in the event you are unhappy, you have two weeks to ask for a refund. I cannot offer exchanges at this moment in time, however that may change in the future.

In the event of a return, the cost of the item will be promptly refunded to you upon my receiving the item in question.

For now, I cannot refund the cost of shipping, nor can I cover the cost of return shipping. Again, this may change in the future.
Additional policies and FAQs
C U S T O M _ O R D E R S

I do accept custom orders.

If you think you may like an item custom made, start a conversation with me, or a custom order request, and together we can build an order for you.

I find it better to be very detailed in putting together a custom order, so expect a lot of questions! I want to give you exactly what you have in mind.

A custom order may take from one week up to two or three, depending on what it is you are looking for, what materials I have available to me. I may need to source more, which can take a few extra days. It will become clearer within our discussion how long it will take.

With all custom orders I require full payment before I begin making the custom items.

If you have any more questions, please do ask!

-All custom orders must be paid in full before manufacturing can begin. On custom orders over £80.00, there will be a five day cancellation window*, after which work will commence and no cancellations can occur without customer incurring the cost of the total order.
