I commissioned a portrait of our two children as an anniversary present. Bill captured more than just their likeness, though he did that with amazing precision. He captured their joy and energy and vitality. The picture hangs in our dining room, where it warms up the entire house and stops me in my tracks every time I walk by. Captivated by my daughter growing up and capturing those moments in portraits.

I have always been a freelance artist but it was not until recently I really started to specialise in portraiture. I have always loved portraiture and it has played a major role in most in my work and exhibitions. How ever it was not until our daughter came along that I became fully mesmerised by the way our faces develop over time. Being able to watch my daughter's expressions grow and evolve inspired me to really start capturing the portrait as a full time occupation. I made a promise to create a portrait of my daughter every year for her birthday and then to be able to hand her this sketch book n her 18th birthday.

Friends and family became as inspired by this as I weasand asked for portraits of their loved ones. This is how the Hushland Portrait service came to be born.

I am now enjoying the wonders of drawing many faces completely unknown to me for folk who want to celebrate a particular occasion such as significant birthdays and anniversaries and even the passing of loved ones.
