    Constructing the Miniature houses

I think you can only create good art when you are enjoying the process, and I certainly enjoyed researching and creating my miniature houses.

I love to experiment with all types of processes and materials, using everything from oil, acrylic and watercolour paints, to natural materials such as rock, stone, wood and plant matter.

I like to create something with a story behind it, and have been constructing Fairy Houses to put in the garden to attract the 'little people' - the elusive folk of myth and magic that feature a lot in the stories I make up to tell the grandchildren.

I have also enjoyed solving problems, like form and structure, with the materials to hand that went into building this and other structures.

I particularly enjoyed engraving the door posts and carving the dragon heads for the Celtic Long House, which compliments the other houses in this collection.

After retiring from a long career as farmer, lecturer and Estate Manager I wanted to pursue my dream of creating and experimenting with all forms of art. Opening a shop on Etsy has given me a chance to display some of that work.
