Lovely tea towel! The quality of this tea towel is great- really nice, thick fabric. But the real gem here is the design. I bought this for my mother who is a quilter and a huge fan of Liberty and she marveled at the the image which was all stitched by a machine and not drawn with a pencil or brush. The print quality from the original image was excellent too, and all packaged up nicely. Thanks!

I bought this as a present for my Bowie-mad daughter-in-law and I will be giving to her later today. I know she's more likely to hang it on the wall than dry dishes with it, and quite right too! It's lovely quality and Harriet has made a wonderful, really creative piece of work .

Bought this as a Christmas gift and honestly, I'm in love with it! Might have to get them something else and keep it for myself! Great quality and even looks better in person 👌

Brilliant as always. My third or fourth T towel after originally having a portrait done. Harriet and her work are fabulous. Follow her!
Textile Performance Artist- Stitches Portraits and Stories live with a sewing machine!
Harriet Riddell travels the world with her sewing machine pitching up in challenging locations from the slums of Nairobi to the tea fields of the Himalayas. Through free motion embroidery she captures her surrounding environment and the people she meets.
Adventure, interaction and communication are key elements to each piece of Harriet’s work. Behind every ‘stitch’ lies a narrative of the people, place and culture.
At times, Harriet encourages her street audience to pedal a bicycle which generates electricity and powers the art. This increases the interaction between her, her subject and the art its self.
During the Pandemic, Harriet has been using the power of technology and stitching portraits of families around the world with her sewing machine on live Zoom video calls.
“It’s been fascinating to find the world in the same boat and document this strange time onto canvas.”
Harriet is looking forward to continuing to interact with the world with her art. Once the pandemic is over, she intends to tour her Travelling Gallery.
The wheeled art installation space will travel from different towns, Harriet will respond to new locations with her work and the space will become a unique gallery space to view the art.
Harriet has been running her Artist Business since 2012.
