One of my favourite processes is making handles.
Beautiful pottery to use every day.
My passion is to make beautiful unique pieces that can be used every day - mugs, jugs and bowls. I make unique, hand thrown and hand decorated earthenware ceramics.
I have always loved Crafts and making things - ever since my mum taught me to knit as a small child. I particularly love working with colour - whether that be with my pottery, knitting designs or in objects I choose for my home.
I started pottery as a hobby about 12 years ago. I kind of went at it backwards! I had a budget to buy some new tableware but couldn't find anything I liked that much. So I decided to buy some blanks and paint my own designs, using my favourite pastel shades.
After a while I decided I wanted to learn how to make the actual pieces. I started taking pottery classes and soon found that I had discovered my favourite craft. Eventually I learnt to throw on the wheel (practice, practice and then a lot more practice).
After a few years I started to sell some pieces through a local gallery; at the same time as I was lucky enough to get a picture of my bowls in 'Country Living' magazine and things gradually took off from there.
I sell in a few galleries around the UK and online. My pottery business is now my full-time job.
My work is inspired by vintage ceramics, favourite classic literature, including books from my childhood and more recently 'Outlander' both the books and the TV series. I love using soft, clear ice cream colours that will brighten up your day.
I work from my home studio in Bristol UK. My work has a nostalgic, pretty, vintage style but is made in modern practical shapes; is suitable for everyday use and is dishwasher safe.
My making process is a long one! First of all I throw pieces on the wheel, using terracotta earthenware clay.
After an initial 'biscuit' firing pieces are glazed with different coloured, food-safe glazes which I make myself.
They then have their second firing.
Most pieces have ceramic transfers, which are applied on top of the glaze and the piece has it's third and final firing.

Delivery
For UK I normally post First Class, or sometimes First Class Signed For.* First Class Mail usually arrives the following day but occasionally takes longer, particularly if you live in a more remote location.
Estimated shipping times outside UK:
Europe - normally 5-7 business days
North America and Australasia - average of 2-3 weeks.
*If the order contains a few pieces or costs £24 or more I will use a tracked form of delivery.
If you live in a country that I have not included in my Shipping list, please contact me to see if I can ship to you.
Additional policies and FAQs
All my pieces are handmade and no two are exactly alike. Sometimes there will be a slight 'imperfection' such as a slight asymmetry or speckle in a glaze. This is part of the nature and charm of handmade pottery and is what makes each piece unique.
All my pieces are sturdy and suitable for everyday use. I use lead free foodsafe glaze.
Packaging
I recycle packaging where possible.
Many of my mugs come in beautiful, printed presentation boxes. These are designed to be kept and reused e.g to store jewellery or sewing items.

Do you ship to USA?
Yes I do ship to the USA and most other countries too. The only exception is with my Licensed Outlander pieces which I can only ship within UK and Europe. (See below for more detail on Outlander pieces).
Can you ship multiple items together?
Yes I can ship multiple items and for each piece after the initial piece, shipping will be reduced. This applies to UK and International shipping.
How can I buy a Licensed Outlander piece if I'm not in Europe?
Because my license to sell Outlander merchandise only covers UK and Europe, I cannot personally ship outside these countries. However if you are in e.g US and have a friend or relative in the UK who could buy a piece for you, I will offer Free shipping to your contact in the UK.
Do you make your own glazes?
Yes I make all my own, foodsafe glazes. It is not normally possible for me to make glaze colours outside of my standard range as it takes a lot of experimentation and testing to make a new colour.
Do you include invoices in your orders?
I don't include paper invoices in my orders, as many of them are purchased as gifts. Etsy will send you a detailed online receipt.
