Nanny Olive

Whenever I think about why I love the fiber arts, I always think of my Nanny Olive. I spent every weekend at her house, and she would bake with me, sew with me, draw with me, make with me.
The last day that I spent with her, she tried so patiently to teach me to crochet on her current project. I was an eager 8 year old, but I just couldn't get the hang of it. She sent me home with the project and the hook. I never did work on that project. It's too special, it's the last thing she ever worked on.
She's the reason I love to make things. She's the reason Jellybeans Yarns exists.

Jellybeans Yarns started out of a need to dye my own handspun yarn. I've always been a crafter. So when I discovered a yarn shop while at uni, knitting took hold. Eventually, I wanted to make my own yarn. So of course, I eventually wanted to dye it.
