Photography film and alternative photographic processes

Stalybridge, England

Announcement    Welcome to my shop!

I create cyanotype and traditional darkroom prints from my own photographs, both digital and film. I also make wet cyanotype botanical prints from flowers I grow, and wildflowers found locally.

My traditional darkroom prints are made in a small room at my home which I have converted into a darkroom. I use a resin coated paper and tone all my prints to make them archival, unless stated in the description. I use a number of different cameras, from a simple 35mm SLR, to a large folding camera that uses 5”x4” sheet film.

Cyanotype is a photographic process developed by Sir John Herschel in 1842, not long after photography had been invented. It was intended as a means of reproducing notes and diagrams – the blueprint. From its invention however, it has also been used as a photographic technique. I create both blue and toned cyanotype prints.

My digital photographs are printed on a high-quality large format printer, on archival matte or semi-gloss paper. The type of paper used will be mentioned in the product description.

I try to size all my work to fit standard frame sizes, so it’s ready to display in your home. The size is always stated in the product description.
