About

I capture miniature wonderlands in molten glass.

Inspiration comes from everyday scenes; a washing line blowing wildly on the first day of spring, an unknown couple on a park bench, a door ajar giving just a glimpse of what lies within...
Scenes are directly influenced by my life as a Devon-based mum; following visits to the towns, beach and moor I create tiny wire sketches based on the day’s observations. I then use a sand-casting technique to encase the wire models between layers of molten glass. It is the unpredictable and uncontrollable flow of the glass which brings each scene to life, creating the breeze in the washing and the foliage on the trees; it also ensures that every piece is truly unique! The locations of most pieces are left deliberately ambiguous, encouraging you to project your own memories onto them.
I graduated from Plymouth College of Art in 2012, in 2014 I was selected for the Crafts Council’s prestigious Hothouse 4 programme. My work has been featured on the cover of Craft & Design magazine, won awards at two London shows, and a piece was selected for the 2015 British Glass Biennale exhibition.

Gift wrapping and packaging

Each piece will arrive carefully packaged in a Jenny Ayrton branded box, complete with literature to show how it was made, and a Certificate of Authenticity.

I double-box each piece for delivery, swaddling it in bubble-wrap to ensure that the piece arrives safe and intact. I've had pieces delivered safely within the UK, and as far afield as the USA and Iceland.
