Welcome to Jouelle my jewellery shop where you can buy beautiful, handmade jewellery designed to be kept or given, worn and loved

Every item of handmade jewellery is a small and unique work of art. Each piece is lovingly designed, cut, shaped, forged and polished.

Using sterling silver, gold and semi-precious stones in my studio I create pieces of jewellery to treasure, to wear, to love and maybe, if you can part with them, to give.

I'm inspired by so much around me in nature and art as well as the aesthetics of other cultures. On the one hand I appreciate clean architectural lines, minimal colours, natural forms and on the other, I love pattern, texture, colour and shape. I just can't decide which I like the best.

All of my jewellery is individually made by me using traditional silversmiths techniques, so no two pieces will ever be identical. That's the nature of handcrafted items.

As well as the pieces I love to make, I will make items especially for you or a loved one. Simply email me with a brief description of what you're thinking of and your contact details and let's get the ball rolling. jouellejewellery [!at]

All my jewellery is made to order specially for you, so please allow up to 2 to 3 weeks to receive your items for UK residents. In some cases, you'll receive your items sooner than this.

If you're in a hurry, email me and I'll work with you to help.

For those of you ordering from abroad, email me to check delivery times and costs to your country. I will respond within a day.

Unless otherwise stated, my photographs represent the items, but are not of the actual item you will receive. I will make your piece especially for you once you order and it will be brand new and unworn, but equally as beautiful. Remember, each piece is as individual as you are.

All sterling silver items over 7.78gms will be hallmarked by the London Assay Office
with my maker's mark and the metal fineness marks, which is a UK legal
requirement for precious metals. This is your assurance that the item conforms to a
specified legal standard of purity. This does mean it takes a little longer for you to receive your order, but it well worth the wait.

As a child I was always painting, drawing and making things, so it's no surprise I became a graphic designer. From commercial art, I stepped into marketing but I missed hands-on crafting. So, I learned how to work precious metal and created Jouelle.

All jewellery is precious and delicate and even diamonds are subject to damage. Precious metals will wear and tarnish with use over time and all precious stones are affected by chemicals.

Here are some tips to help you keep your items like new.

1. Keep your jewellery items in separate compartments or soft bags in a jewellery box. Precious metal is fairly soft and will scratch and stones may chip or crack.
2. Silver will tarnish over time, it's a natural occurance due to the action of suphur in the air on the small amount of copper in Sterling. If you keep it well wrapped when not in use, it will minimise the effect. Jewellery cleaning solutions are available in jewellers and hardwear stores, but be aware that most precious stones should not be cleaned in a preparatory solution.
3. Chlorine, seawater, perfume and even sweat can affect and etch or errode metals. Remove jewellery when swimming or on the beach and spray perfume before putting on your jewellery.
4. A soft cloth is mostly all that is needed to bring your jewellery back to a sparkle, but if it has become dirty or scratched, I recommend you take it to a professional high street jewellers who will clean and polish it.
5. Pearls are organic gemstones and very susceptable to chemicals and hash detergents. Removal of your jewellery is recommended. Again a wipe with a soft cloth will be all that is required to bring back its lustre.

I will advise you on the best care for your piece when you place an order with me.
