I create works of art which mix subjects based on classic and traditional portraiture done as line drawings with patterns and words has a backdrop on paper prepared with spray paint using stencil graffiti.

To make my work of art I first prepared a line drawing inspired by the use of imagery, pattern and symbol on social networking. I generally use a central subject inspired by the great tradition portraiture or historic paintings but I have devalued the image by using a single line technique. I chose to devalue the subject to reflect the devaluing of the image on social networking through the endless reusing, reblogging, retweeting, etc. In the background I use a jumbled mixture of patterns inspired by patterns ancient and new, and words presented in a nonsensical cloud.
I then prepared the A4 size paper by spray painting the foreground and background colours with the aid of hand-cut stencils
Finally, I print the line drawing onto the prepared paper to create the final image.
