Welcome to the Etsy shop of my design studio, J Jacob Designs! I hope you find things here that help you spend more time with friends and family. 

My work combines traditional craft (which I do myself) and modern manufacturing (which I get done with the help of a fantastic steelworks forge in Stoke) and I aim to use the very best qualities of both higgely-piggly craft and sleek, modern manufacturing. I work in the Lake District of England and everything is designed and made in Britain.

I started J Jacob Designs last year and I'm excited that you are here at my shop with me! I also write the design blog The Product Edit, linked under "Blog" below, where I confess my weakness for all the beautiful products out there.

The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalised orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)
  • Digital downloads
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
Returns and exchange details
We will of course replace items if they are defective or damaged. Please be aware that the item originally bought may no longer be available.

Our policy lasts 30 days from the date of purchase. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t always offer you a refund or exchange but we'll always see what we can do and try to help you out as much as possible.
To be eligible for a return your item must be unused, in the original packaging, and in the same condition that you received it in. To complete your return you will need proof of purchase.

Once your return is received and inspected we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item and notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment.

Late or missing refunds
If you haven’t received a refund yet, please first check your bank account online (if you can) and contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is actually back in your account as there is often some bank-y processing time before a refund is posted.

Sale items
Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded.
J Jacob Designs’ Etsy shop accepts payment by PayPal, Debit cards, Bank cards, Credit cards (including AmEx), Etsy gift cards, Apple Pay, iDEAL (from buyers in the Netherlands), and Sofort (from buyers in Austria and Germany).

You do not need a PayPal account to pay for your items through PayPal! After you submit your order click the "Pay Now" button. Scroll Down and you will see the option to pay with a Credit or Debit Card without having to sign up for a PayPal account.

I will start the packing your J Jacob Designs product as soon as payment clears.

If a commission has been accepted by J Jacob Designs through Etsy email (or a similar unconventional channel) a “Reserved For ____” listing will be posted on the Etsy shop. Work will start on the product when the listing has been purchased and payment has cleared.
If you are sending a gift directly to a friend or relative let me know and I will leave out the receipt that I would usually provide you with.

The time it takes for your product to reach you will vary depending on your country, postal address, and customs. Mostly customers in the UK will receive their purchase in under 4 days, Europe under 7 days, and the rest of the world in under 10 days, however I cannot guarantee this.

Remember YOU MUST ADD AN EXTRA DAY or two's buffer to account for the item's processing time here at the studio. This extra day or so for studio processing is detailed on each product page.

Shipping costs are non-refundable.

Buyers are responsible for any customs and import taxes that may apply. J Jacob Designs is not responsible for delays due to customs.

I use either Royal Mail, Parcelforce, DPD, or DHL to ship my products in the UK but if you have a personal preference it is likely that I'll be able to accommodate that, just let me know at the checkout.

To return your product (please let us know first so that we can help you), you should mail your product to: J Jacob Designs, The Making Rooms, 1 Exchange Street, Blackburn, BB1 7JN. Buyers are responsible for the cost of return shipping.

If you are returning an item over £75 in value, I would advise using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance as without this shipping providers can’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
