About Justaddinspiration
Stationery Supporting Mental Well-being
Hi,
I’m Mel and I’m the person behind Just Add Inspiration. I live in Kent, in the South East of England with my husband and our young son.
I have always loved being creative, my Grandfather was an incredible artist and instilled a love of creativity in me from a very young age. During school holidays he would set myself, my sister and our cousin up with easels, pencils and a sketch pad and tell us to draw what we saw (we lived on a farm so natural beauty was everywhere) and he would give us instruction and insight on our work. It’s something I will always treasure.
I went on to study art at GCSE and A-level at school but studied to become a beauty therapist when I left school and kept art as a hobby. A few years into my career I had an accident which meant I was unable to continue. It was then that I opened this shop making and selling prints and bunting, it wasn’t until I had my son that I followed my love of stationery and stopped making bunting.
When my son was 5 months old my family suffered a devastating loss and it led me to develop post natal depression. I needed to find myself again and having always loved stationery it felt right to marry it with creativity.
I have always wanted to help others with my work and I designed my first notebook, Letters To You, through my own experience with Mental Health. With all of my products I want them to help people feel good, to feel less alone in their struggles and to help normalise the conversation around Mental Health.
I decided that I wanted to do more and 10% of my profits from several of my products are donated to Mental Health charities such as Beat, Mind and PANDAS.
Thank you so much for visiting my shop. I hope you love my products and would love for you to visit my social media pages to say hi.
Have a wonderful day.
Mel xx
