About

I am a Liverpool based artist creating abstract landscape paintings and resin artworks. My work is inspired by the epic landscapes that I have seen on my travels around the world. I love to experiment with different materials and techniques to create unique works of art.

It is my aim is to capture the essence of the landscape, highlighting the different tonal and mood effects that light has on nature. I have always been fascinated and mesmerised by the sky and light, and it is my aim to create artworks that capture the awe-inspiring emotion that a dramatic landscape evokes.

I studied at Liverpool Hope University from 2010-2013 doing my BA Hons in Fine Art, and then doing my Masters in Art History and Curating the following year. I really enjoyed my time at university and wanted to get a job working in an art gallery, but this didn't happen for me. Competition for paid jobs in the arts is tough, so I ended up following a different career path and worked in a car dealership for 7 months. Although I learnt a lot from working in this industry, it wasn't the right path for me. So, in March 2016 I quit my graduate job to follow my dream and become an artist full time!

I work in a studio on Victoria street in Liverpool city centre with 9 other creatives. There is a great atmosphere working in a studio with like-minded enthusiastic and supportive people who you can share and discuss ideas with.

I have had a really positive reaction to my art so far, which is incredibly flattering and motivating. It is my goal for 2017 to have my work featured in more galleries, restaurants, hotels etc. to gain more recognition and increase the value of my work.

I am always eager to try new materials and techniques to create unique contemporary pieces. My goal is to create engaging art, prompting dialogue and contemplation, to allow the viewer to draw on their imagination and see the work in their own individual way.

As well as adding new artworks to my collection I am available for private commissions. Price guides can be found on my website: www.katechesters.com/commissions or you can send a message ☺
