About KateOsmanGlass

The view from my new studio - a beautiful sunny spot!
-
A sneaky peak at my work bench - tidy for once with work ready to list...
-
The other corner of my studio - still tidy!!!
-
A little bit of sparkle...

The first bowl I ever made...
Habitual wombler - happiest in my studio or at the seaside...
Reluctant to see anything go into landfill if it can be reused, I am passionate about making as much use of the random things we as a nation might otherwise discard.
From seaside to city nothing is safe from the very real possibility that it may find itself in my studio or workshop being transformed! From huge pieces of furniture and old wooden boxes, to the tiny pieces of seaglass found amongst grains of sand and pebbles on the beach I delight in rescuing and where possible reusing it all.
My glass is old greenhouse panes, picture glass, windows or bottles, everything else is a serendipitous find!
Based in Dorset UK, my studio is in a log cabin in my garden and though a little chilly in the winter, the summer months are an absolute delight!
Shop policies
I work mostly with reclaimed glass, broken greenhouse glass, glass from picture frames, Sea glass and indeed pretty much any odd bits of glass I can recycle!
Each piece I create is unique, an exploration of colour and form, the molten glass leading the way, the colours working each time in an unusual, unique and fabulous way.
There is only me working in my studio so each piece is both designed and made by me - I will not let work leave my studio unless I am completely happy with it, I hope you will be too!
Accepted payment methods
Returns and exchanges
If when you receive your glass you are not happy with it or it has broken in transit then please contact me as soon as possible. I do however pack all my glass very carefully so breakage is unlikely.
If you wish to return an item, please contact me immediately to arrange a return and then return the item within 14 days intact and with the original packaging. I suggest a signed for service with insurance but this is your choice. A full refund of the cost of the item will be made once the item arrives back at my studio but shipping costs will not be refunded. Ensuring the safe return of the item is your responsibility, as is the cost (again, unless the item is damaged). Please make sure that if you are returning an item because you do not like it once you have seen it, that you package it up very well as pieces broken in transit back to me will not be refunded.
I am sorry but custom made, personalised pieces will not be refunded merely because you have changed your mind.
All items are handmade and shipped from the UK, and all transactions are subject to UK law.
Payment
If you change your mind after having purchased an item, please let me know immediately. There is a possibility of being able to cancel the transaction, but if the item has already been dispatched it will be your responsibility to bear the cost of return, at which point I will be able to refund the original cost of the item, less the return shipping cost providing the item arrives in undamaged condition. You must contact me within 14 days or i am not bound to refund you. Please make sure you package the item very securely as I will not refund if the piece is broken on the return journey - it is your responsibility to make sure it gets back to me in one piece. I advise photographing the item before packaging for return to record the condition of the piece to avoid disappointment. If you decide not to use an insured shipping service to return the item this is your choice but I do not advise it.
Custom made, personalised orders are excluded from this and can not be refunded - please talk to me though!
Order will ship once payment is cleared.
Delivery
Overseas shipping most commonly takes between 5 and 10 days, but may on occasion take up to 6 weeks to arrive. This is quite rare, but please bear it in mind.
I always use a Royal Mail Signed For service within the UK and use an international tracking service for overseas orders, please be aware that other countries are not required to scan the barcodes so 50% of the time they will only show that they have arrived in the country and no more. PLEASE NOTE I can't guarantee delivery times on overseas orders (outside the UK) unless a courier service is used (e.g. UPS or FedEx) which will start at a minimum of $65.
Please note that shipping charges include not only the cost of the postage, but also cover the cost of packaging materials (including appropriately sturdy boxes where necessary and bubble wrap), delivery to the post office and an element to cover the time this takes. If costs are significantly lower than expected a refund for the difference will be made once the item has been dispatched. Due to the weight of glass, larger items will incur a higher shipping cost - please feel free to ask for the weight of an item and other relevant details (such as size and dimensions of packing boxes) if you would like to check out postage costs yourself. Where possible I use good quality recycled packaging to minimise the cost to the environment and also your costs too.
If more than one item is bought at the same time shipping at the standard rate will be charged for the most expensive item with additional items at the reduced rate.
I'm sorry but I will not mark any customs form as "gift" as this is against the law and I (if not the buyer too) could be in a lot of trouble for doing so!
All customers are liable for customs charges or taxes if their country adds it. Please be aware of the laws in your country.
Additional policies and FAQs
A bespoke piece has been made to order and therefore can not be returned if you change your mind.

Custom and personalised orders
If you have seen something you like in my shop but would like it personalised or in a different style or size please contact me. I love bespoke commission pieces and really enjoy working out with you exactly what you would like. The boring bit - Please be aware though that personalised orders are not returnable or refundable as they have no re-sale value.
Can you make something with my own glass?
Possibly! It depends on what type of glass it is and west you are hoping I will be able to make with it. Due to glass compatibility issues it may not be possible but do contact me and if I can work with it for you, I will.
