I carve each EcoCarve block by hand with fancy Japanese carving tools.
Carving is one of my favorite parts of the printmaking process--working with my hands makes me feel peaceful.
Pulling the first print is an exciting moment! Time to see whether the hours of designing and carving have paid off.
Most of my inspiration comes from the Vermont countryside right outside my studio window.
Beautiful!

Art belongs to everyone . . .

It all started as three friends getting together every week to drink tea and make prints--usually at someone's kitchen table. None of us had art degrees, fancy studios or patrons. We had jobs, kids, and busy lives but we still managed to squeeze out a few hours a week to print. Eventually we made enough art to hold a show, and Kitchen Table Printer was born. I realized from that experience that no matter how hectic life got, I needed a regular creative practice.

Since that time my work has evolved to include more intimacy in its botanical portraiture, and more vibrancy in its color, and I've expanded my offerings to include teaching block printing workshops to adults who are ready to add more creativity to their lives.
