About

How it started

During visits to India I often watched travellers making and selling jewellery made with knots and stones. When I came across a Tibetan refugee woman in 2013 in MacLeod Ganj who taught this technique I jumped at the chance of learning something new. I didn't realise at the time that what I was learning was actually called micro-macramé, macrame being the art of knot tying, as my experience of macramé as a child in the 70's was large owls and plant hangers. So home I came with a pocket full of stones and I haven't stopped tying knots around them since.

My interest in Macramé developed into large scale pieces for the home and I enjoy bringing the old original styles that I grew up with up to date.

I love India and it's people and that's where it all started for my macrame jewellery making, now I have even more reasons to keep going back. I have two shops on Etsy, Knotty Knotty Macrame and Knotty Essentials.

Care instructions

My macramé jewellery is made using materials such as cotton and nylon and some beads are tibetan silver or silver plated. To ensure the life of your jewellery please minimise contact with perfume, water, lotion or sweat and store jewellery away from sunlight.

Most items can be cleaned with a dry cloth or a little soap water with a light touch, please don't scrub.

Sizing details

Sizing for necklaces is clearly stated. I can make most items to suit specific sizing requirements so if in doubt, please ask.

It's the buyers responsibility to ask for custom sizes, if an item doesn't fit and it's returned then I can refund the item price only.

Distance selling rules apply in the UK, elsewhere I am not responsible for lost or delayed items. Proof of posting will be obtained and there is an option of tracked/recorded shipping.
