Jewellery to remind you of earlier epoques. You recall... sometime, somewhere... you saw, or touched, or maybe wore these. You know that your spirit seems to realise this. --------
I have always been drawn to something historical. Images from an ancient time speak to me. And stones, beads, all those materials are waiting to be discovered and to be made into something through which they can recall their memories. Reminiscences of earth, civilization, epoque, human beings...
Main Website - www.kotomicreations.com
My jewellery often resembles objects made from gold... but this is not the case. I use polymer clay to combining with semi-precious stones, textured glass pieces, crystal stones etc... Then I decorate with antique-gold-colour mica powder. This technique allows me to explore many possibilities in design and form to create gorgeous jewellery !!
The pieces I introduce here are mostly one-off.
Thank you for visiting !!

5 out of 5 starsKotomi made me two sets of earrings based on my taste to match the necklace she had on sale. She is the greatest! Prices are very reasonable and her gems are Renaissance works of art!

The Grace, Glory and Elegance of the Past
After hard-working days in commercial/ fashion jewellery design industry in Japan (uh, yes, that was a workaholic society at that time!!), I half-retired to London, my soul home town. I swore to myself to start my creative journey towards the inside of me. Questing for my own aesthetic Holy-Grail. I decided to became a hermit, but a highly decorative(!!) hermit, who spins endless jewels...
For me, London is the best environment to explore many historical styles. I spend numerous times in museums and galleries to absorb airs and vibrations from ancient/ period objects.
In addition, I have discovered many materials from all over the world. Everything has a specific significance (whether I sense it or not), and has came onto my atelier desk with a certain particular purpose to be combined with other materials.
I am a just an agent for allowing them happen...
I discovered the early stages of polymer clay around my "late Japanese era", and it eventually developed into a more durable and tractable material.
This material fitted into my working ethos pretty well. For my hands need to catch up with my endlessly-flowing design ideas as quickly as possible.
I blend 2 types of clay, one for durability another for tractability. After forming into pendant heads, gilded with gold mica powder, baked in the oven. After firing, they combined with beads, chains, pearls and etc.
This unique technique allows me to create jewellery in Glory, Grace and Elegance from the Past without being 'emperor/empress' of the contemporary world.

Shop policies
After branching out into photography and objet d'art, I am displaying variety type of my creation.
Jewellery section has 2 lines;
One is my main-line, Kotomi Jewellery - I regularly create 2 collections per year, using polymer clay to combine semi-precious stones, crystal glass etc...
Another line is, Combination Jewellery - Pendant tops are sold separately from chains, and can be combined with chains in same Combi Collection, and/or your own chains, ribbons etc... Pick and mix customizable jewellery.
As pendants have small clasps on the top, it is easy to attach on/off chain without any tool.
All creations stem from the same root; the glory, grace and elegance of the past, and yet somehow mystery and decadence as a twist.
Enjoy browsing my shop and hopefully find something haunt to your soul ; )

Polymer clay is used for the base of my jewellery.
Although I use my special blending recipe to maximise the durability the clay, breakage can happen (but under 1% of sold items in over 10 years).
I guarantee free repair for 6 months after the purchase.
I request to you to cover only sending-in postage, in return I shall cover the sending-out postage.
REPAIRS:
Repairs after 6 months of the purchase will be charged at the actual cost and the sending-out postage. Once again it is very rare occurrence.
Most cases of repair involve simply re-threading, which can happen after several years of use. The guide cost for re-threading is £10=$15 with no missing beads, plus postage. (I would ask you to cover sending-in postage, as well.)
JEWELLERY CARE:
Please do remember 2 important "Don't"s.
KEEP AWAY FROM PERFUME AND HEAT.
If you are going to wear perfume/eau-de-Cologne/hair-spray, please allow it to evaporate before putting on jewellery; never spray it on to the jewellery.
The volatile alcohol-based substances in them damages the polymer clay settings.
And polymer clay is perfectly firm after baking, but if it is kept over 50℃, it tends to be soft again. Therefore, please avoid top of a radiator and/or dash-board in a car in a summer day. (By any chance, if it happened, keep it in cool place, it will be harden again.)
