How it all began

It all started back in 1996. My wife and I had worked for years in exhibition design and for a multi discipline design consultancy but dreamed of owning our own Company. We finally followed our hearts and took the plunge to start our own design Company and have never looked back.

In 2010, inspired by a house filled with Beautiful Russian Dolls and many of my wifes craft creations we decided to do what we truly love and changed to designing craft kits and selling beautiful Matryoshka (Russian Dolls). Our first kits combined the two and our unique Painta Pets and Katerina Paint your own Russian doll kits were designed, closely followed by a Russian Doll decoupage kit.

Our Painta Pets characters, especially Percy the Penguin, became very popular so we carried them through to our other types of craft kits as well as introducing new favourites like Herby the Hedgehog. Percy quickly became a superstar, being made and photographed by people all over the World as well as snuggling up to Dragons Dens Theo Paphitis for a cheeky selfie.
