Announcement    A very warm welcome to my Etsy shop.

It’s taken me a while to get here, balancing work, family life ,studying and printing is not easy but I’m pleased to say it’s finally up and running.

My background is in surface decoration, which is what I studied many moons ago in the early 1990’s at DeMontfort University.

Since then I’ve dabbled with ceramics, stained glass, silversmithing and lots more. I feel though that I’ve finally come home in returning to printing, I absolutely love it.

My inspiration comes mostly from forms , movement and patterns that occur in nature or sometimes simply float around inside my head bursting to get out. I also love 1950’s and 60’s patterns, scandi and folk art. Themes in my work are often whimsical and magical, animals, trees flowers or sometimes abstract images which seem to appeal equally to children and grown ups.

I’m at my happiest when at the studio or pottering round my kitchen, playing with new shapes, forms, textures and colours. Listening to my favourite music and the company of my fabulous cat Penelope are essential to the creative process, although I often have to extract Penelope from the scene when her colourful paint paws get in the way.

I hope you like my shop. Please feel free to contact me at Leisamegretton [!at] gmail.com if you have any questions or would like to talk to me about making something special.
