Lindsay & Yoshi

Hello, I'm Lindsay.

I've always loved drawing, ever since I can remember. I have fond memories of illustrating flora and fauna at primary school and I still have my little visual homework diary! (Favourite part of school - drawing!) My inspiration began from Beatrix Potter's tales, family pets, bedtime stories, weekends spent exploring the River Dee in Royal Deeside along with walks on Aberdeen beach.

After graduating from Gray's School of Art where I studied Graphic Design I went on to combine this subject with my love of illustration and I started designing silk scarves.

I now work from my home studio in rural Aberdeenshire where I am fortunate to be joined by what I affectionately call 'the gang'. Members include Yoshi, the chickens, Mr pheasant, Big Heron and lots more characters who feature in some of my artwork. Each design is hand drawn before being transformed digitally, this is where I mix the colour palette and change the layout. My designs are then digitally printed in the UK and either hand made by myself or finished at specialist manufacturers here in the UK.

My current work has developed into focusing solely on the wildlife of the North East of Scotland, the place I call home. One of my recent collections, 'Catnip Fishmongers', is a range of catnip toys for cats, illustrations of the creatures in the North Sea and the area's connection to fishing.

My dream is to create a series of illustrated books that tell the tale of the garden gang here at my home. One of the most magical moments of my life so far was when I watched the Aurora Borealis with Yoshi, this inspired my 'Forest of Illusion' design. I hope to have many more designs to share with you soon.

Hello, I'm Lindsay, I started my creative business after graduating from Gray's School of Art in Aberdeen. I wanted to share my artwork on products that had some sort of functionality. I work from my home studio in Aberdeenshire.
