About

Designs that are Worlds Apart!

2015:
Following an exhibition in Port-Vendres (sth France) of my painting and photography I started to develop my Worlds Apart images. Having completed my own Village and City images, I showed them to the landlord at my local pub and immediately made two sales.

Months of hard work followed as I started to build up my collection of images. Lots of interest from friends & family. Facebook page up and running, some little promotional videos done and advertising art work completed.

By the end of the year I'd sold several images, some of which headed overseas, together with a couple of sales through Etsy. I also managed to get some useful coverage in a couple of local magazines.

2016:
During 2016 I continued to build up my catalogue of images. It became a good excuse to visit places, though my wife soon began to suspect my reasons!

My best seller during the year was my ‘Leicester City Premier Champions’. How we managed to win the title having only just managed to avoid relegation the year before, nobody will ever know. This image now hangs on the wall of our local pub.

We have an apartment in Port-Vendres (www.port-vendres.co.uk) and in the summer I entered two Worlds Apart images into the open exhibition there. Both images sold (Port-Vendres & Collioure), one going to the Mayor of Port-Vendres.

I put on two or three small exhibitions of my work locally, and took part in several fairs leading up to Christmas. My images continued to sell steadily through ETSY, some going as far as the States and Taiwan.

2017:
At the beginning of 2017 I started experimenting again with images that I had originally called SpinArt (which later led to my Worlds Apart images). Several SpinArt images have now been added to my collection.

I worked on a new version of 'how I make my 'Worlds Apart' images. Don't read too much into it - it's just for fun!!

Near by Scarecrow Festivals and a Groby village Wheel Barrow race opened up further possibilities for my creations. The Wheel Barrow race image now can be found hanging in the Groby Stamford Arms pub.

2018;
In March, the Derby Telegraph featured my work in their daily newspaper. My Derby 'worlds apart' image actually appeared on the front page.
