Bright wool felt bags and accessories.

All my products are hand made in my studio in west Wales by me. My lovely husband helps out by forging the beautiful stainless steel buttons that we have designed together.

I use 100% wool felt manufactured in Britain, originally developed for industrial use but now available in fantastic colours, the felt is 3mm thick and very stable.
If I choose to line a bag I use striped cotton woven in Britain, and the zips I use are also made in Britain, as is the thread.

I love the sculptural quality of the felt which I use to create a rigid shape for the bags and purses, giving you an original, eye catching and durable item.

For the aprons and tote bags I use British linen embellished with cottages using traditional Welsh flannel cloth.

MabliJack's bags have grown out of a desire for a bag that is robust, eyecatching and colourful. I enjoy experimenting with different shapes and forms to create exciting new pieces.

My husband is a fully qualified blacksmith, his usual work involves restoration of metal work associated with historic buildings. However I am lucky enough that he can find time to produce beautiful hand forged stainless steel fastenings for my bags.

The main aim of the show is to support local wool, producers and small craft businesses. Wool as a renewable resource is still undervalued and the show aims to bring this wonderful natural resource back into focus. The show is run by the Pembrokeshire Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers with support from Planned.
