About

What got me started making jewellery?

Hi.I'm Maiden Islington. I'm based in the London borough of Islington, where I make my unique jewellery pieces literally on my kitchen table.

I came up with the name for my store after a 'pun off' with my daughter!
I don't own my own boutique but my pieces can be bought offline/in-store at Outpost in Holloway and until early 2018 at Things British Kings Cross

When it comes to jewellery making, I'm completely self taught, learning new techniques and business know-how every day. I'm aiming my jewellery at buyers who are looking for something handmade and different. A mixture of interesting bohemian shapes with the clarity of minimalism; boho with a minimalist spin.

I'd have to say my signature piece is still being developed , along with my skills, but, at the moment, I'm enjoying working this out, using wire, beads and sometimes paper.

What do I enjoy about making the things that I sell? Definitely the journey. Working out what I can do with the materials I've got; seeing what I can do with them.
There are quite a few styles & makers who've inspired me. My biggest influence has been the people I've met along the way, who've given my work a critical eye and good, usable advice. Thank you all.

Thanks for stopping by. You can contact me if you've any questions for me. Feel free to like, pin, or even buy any of the items you see in my shop.
