~ MJ Saville (formerly Maire McLeod) is known for fine vintage and antique clothing, linens, textiles, quilts and decorative antiques. We have been online since "the beginning" (1998) of internet selling. We have worked with Broadway and theater, Museums large and small around the world, collectors and retail customers.
~ I come to this business through my grandparents. My grandmother was an antiques dealer; my grandfather was her patient companion on their long buying trips and the official restoration service (when not working at his job). This was a passion for both of them. As one of their grandchildren, I would often accompany them on meandering road trips, which never went where they were supposed to. There were lots of visits and house calls with interesting "old world" people, tea and cookies.
~ With my grandparents, I climbed around countless mysterious attics, opened trunks and crept around basements, barns and outbuildings. Their home was host to an endless variety of magical, mystical and mysterious objects which they had collected through the years. I am so grateful to them for sharing this world with me.
~ My mother continued this tradition as an avid collector. This lifestyle and love of antiques and their history continues in my life today.
