Handmade Unique Hats and Headpieces - perfect for Mother of the Bride or Groom.

I have been making bespoke occasion wear hats for discerning customers since 2011 in my Rose Garden Studio, at my home in Winchester, Hampshire, UK. It has been a great pleasure to create and launch a capsule collection to sell here on Etsy. The ready-to-wear range includes colourful perching pillbox hats, beautifully detailed cocktail hats and dramatically chic headpieces. I undertake to keep each design lightweight and elegant so that it maintains a presence in the photographs on the special day - but is also very comfortable and easy to wear. Customers have often said to me afterwards "I'd forgotten I had one of your beautiful hats on, until I caught sight of myself in a mirror!"

Every hat you see here in my Etsy shop has been handmade by me in my millinery studio. The collection includes delicate silk roses, hand-curled feathers, Swarovski crystals and specially selected trimmings from around the world - all brought together with a generous sprinkling of Marvellous Millinery magic!

All the hats in my Etsy shop are one-off originals. I create each design by hand, photograph it and store it carefully out of the light in a smoke-free environment until you decide to buy it. No-one sees or tries on the hats that are listed in my Etsy shop - they are kept separate from my studio. Therefore, please put your mind at rest because what you see in the photographs is the ACTUAL HAT you are buying - it is unique - I do not make another one to send out to you. It will look like the photographs that you see in each listing.

I take great effort to show the most accurate colours of each piece in the photographs and try to give a realistic description in the text. However, different viewing platforms are calibrated to different hues, and what looks true on my screen, might not look the same on yours. Therefore, I do accept notifications of returns within 3 days of receipt, providing that the hat has not been worn, damaged and that the swing ticket is still attached.

I carefully pack each hat in an appropriately sized box, using plenty of acid-free stiff tissue paper to protect it as much as possible whilst it is in transit. The hatbox itself is then dispatched in a double-walled carton that fits the hatbox exactly. This will protect your purchase as much as possible whilst it is being couriered to you.

P&P is free to mainland UK addresses. Every item of stock is sitting waiting to be sold - I don’t create a new item to send out to you, what you see in the listing is what you get, so I'll be able to dispatch your purchase within 2 working days. I use a 'sign-for' courier delivery service so that your purchase should be with you within 48 hours for UK deliveries.

Returns and exchange details
All purchases are delivered to a mainland UK address free of charge.

If you choose to return an item for a refund, this is done at your own expense - unless an item is found to be damaged or faulty once you've received it. Owing to the delicacy and value of these hats, it is recommended that returns are couriered back to me by using a 'signed for' service.

Please Note: Hats that are listed as being ON SALE are not eligible for return or refund.
Payment
When the payment has been accepted by Etsy and the confirmation order sent, items can only be cancelled for refund within 6 hours because I start the process to dispatch your hat to you as early as I possibly can.
Delivery
Once your purchase has been accepted by Etsy an automatic confirmation email will be sent to you. This is followed by a dispatch notification email within three working days to let you know that your item has been sent. Parcels are couriered using a '48 Hour Delivery' service which requires a signature upon receipt. Your purchase should be with you within two working days.

Every order is supplied in a cardboard hat box which is fit for the purpose of transportation and storage. This box is packed with acid-free tissue to prevent the hat from moving too much in transit. Every hat box is gift wrapped in cellophane and then dispatched in an extra-strong double-walled shipping carton which fits the hat box perfectly. This is all done to try to prevent movement, as much as possible, whilst your new hat is on it’s way to you.

Please inspect your purchase within three days of receipt and notify me immediately by email or telephone if you see that there has been any damage, shortage, defect or deficiency of the order supplied. I will then be able to discuss the possible remedies for the situation with you.

Please return any damaged or defective goods, unworn with the swing ticket still attached, in their original packaging within seven days of receipt and I will make good as soon as it is reasonable to do so. I will reimburse you reasonable costs for the return of the goods, but shall otherwise be under no liability whatsoever arising from such damage, shortage, defect or deficiency.

At this time, I am sorry to say that I can only accept orders from and dispatch to UK addresses.

Your order will be fully insured whilst in transit to you.

REMEMBER - Please rest assured that "What you see, is what you get" for each hat and headpiece listed - they are currently in stock waiting for you to purchase them. The photographs are not of samples that are then replicated for your order. Each hat is stored in a dark, smoke-free, protected environment, which is kept away from the general public.

Object. You can object to (i) my processing of some of your information based on my legitimate interests and (ii) receiving marketing messages from me after providing your express consent to receive them. Custom and personalised orders

If you do not see the perfect hat available to purchase immediately from my Etsy shop, please note that I have been making bespoke hats for selective customers from my Millinery Studio in Winchester, Hampshire UK since 2011.

Sizing details

All the hats and headpieces in my Etsy shop are not sized - one size fits all! All of the perching 'pillbox cocktail' hats are fitted with a comb and millinery elastic and are worn perching on the side of the head, so there are no sizing issues. The headpieces are fitted to a metal Alice headband which is also not sized.

Care instructions

None of my hats or headpieces are designed to be worn in the rain - it was steam and moisture that helped create them, so if they get wet, it can destroy them too.

Always keep your hat in the protective hatbox that I send to you. This will also keep it out of light as the materials will fade over time if not kept in the dark when not being worn.

Please take care with the most fragile elements when putting your hat on, and taking it off again. Feathers can be particularly vulnerable, as can crystals, silk petals and veiling.

Millinery Hair Elastic

Every perching pillbox hat is supplied fitted with a default 'Dark Blonde' coloured elastic, which is as shown in the photographs of each individual piece. However whilst making your purchase, you can opt to have that elastic changed before I dispatch the hat to you. Simply select your preference from the drop-down menu of either Chocolate, Silver, Ivory or Black if you want be to change it from the default 'Dark Blonde' that you see in the photograph.

Gift wrapping and packaging

I wrap each hat box in clear cellophane to protect it before putting it into the sturdy outer delivery carton. I then finish the cellophane off with a pretty ribbon, which serves nicely as wrapping if you wish to give the purchase as a gift - or enjoy it as a gift for yourself! This wrapping service is complimentary.
