About

The Jewellery Dream

An odd thing happened to me a few years ago. As a rule, I wouldn't remember my dreams, but one night I dreamt I was in a (real) jewellery shop in Perth, looking for a gift for a friend's birthday. The jewellery was quite different from anything I'd seen before, and when I woke up, I wondered if it would be possible for me to reproduce any of the jewellery I'd dreamed about.

That dream was the beginning of a completely new way of life for me. For many years I've battled with a depressive illness, and have lived a fairly isolated, (self imposed) way of life. But things are changing. How wonderful it is at the end of a day not to want it to end! And I'm in no doubt that the passion I have for my craft has been responsible for a gradual return to a better quality of life.

I live with Tasha my little pekingese, in a wee village in Perthshire, Scotland. Pekes are such funny little creatures and Tasha is my third. When I'm not busy with jewellery related things, I love to potter in the garden.

I'm mostly self taught, and as a designer I'm primarily influenced by shape and colour. I'm passionate about the whole process of creation, be that channelled into producing an appealing piece of jewellery, or an interesting, unique piece of mixed media wall art.

My designs are always finished to a high standard, and are typically created using top end, gem quality beads. I also have a particular love of pearls, lampwork glass, and the metal clays. Polymer clay excites me, for its amazing range of colours, and user friendliness.

If you're reading this and are one of my customers, then you're really special to me. You're the icing on my cake, and without you, I simply wouldn't have enough reason to be as I am; designing, creating and living the perfect life for me, so thank you.

Thanks for taking a look around my wee Etsy corner, and Haste Ye Back!

Warmly, and with best wishes,

Morna x
