Hobby gone mad!
Bueno, como dije, me encanta hacer cosas. Siempre me ha encantado hacer cosas, así que lo que comenzó como un pasatiempo se ha convertido en mi negocio.
Al crecer, mi maravillosa mamá me animó a coser, tejer y hacer ganchillo. Ella siempre tenía algo en movimiento, al igual que mis abuelas. Calcetines de punto.. confección de ropa.. haciendo magníficos cuadros bordados... artesanía de pergamino... Estaba rodeada de mujeres maravillosas que hacían cosas. ya sea como un pasatiempo o por necesidad.
Este pasatiempo mío pronto creció cuando la gente dijo' ¿puedes hacerme uno de esos?' Me encanta usar materiales naturales como fieltro de lana pura, algodón y lana, y me gusta mantener las cosas lo más simples posible. También me encantan los botones, tocar la lata de botones de mi Nan cuando era niño, y las cintas. Ahora estoy muy feliz de estar almacenando algunos de estos en mi sitio web.
Reciclar los envases en los que vienen mis artículos también es muy importante para mí. Cuando envío un paquete, puede que no se vea más bonito a primera vista, pero puede garantizar que estará lleno de artículos hermosos.
¡También tengo mi propio sitio web, y desde que aprendí a conducir a la edad madura de 37 años! ! He empezado a ir a ferias de artesanía. Este año (2012) el negocio acaba de despegar como un cohete... es absolutamente increíble. ¡Me encanta! Me encanta que la gente quiera mis cosas... cosas que he diseñado y hecho. Cosas en las que he puesto mi corazón y mi alma. Ahora también tengo algunas de mis cosas en pequeños puntos de venta, lo cual es simplemente fantástico.
Well, as I said, I love to make things. I've always loved to make things, so what started out as a hobby has become my business.
Growing up I was encouraged to sew, knit and crochet by my wonderful Mum. She always had something on the go, as did my Grandmothers. Knitting socks..making clothes..making gorgeous embroidered pictures...parchment crafts...I was surrounded by wonderful women who made things.. whether that was as a hobby or out of necessity.
This hobby of mine soon grew as people said 'can you just make me one of those?' I love using natural materials like pure wool felt, cottons and wool, and I like to keep things as simple as possible. I also love buttons - playing my Nan's button tin as a child - and ribbons. I'm now very happy to be stocking some of these on my website.
Recycling the packaging my items comes in is very important to me too. When I send out a package it might not look the prettiest at first glance but you can guarantee that it will be filled with gorgeous items.
I have my own website too, and since I learnt to drive at the ripe old age of 37!! I've started going to craft fairs. This year (2012) the business has just taken off like a rocket...it's absolutely amazing. I love it! I love that people want my things...things I've designed and made. Things I've put my heart and soul into. I now have a few of my things in small retail outlets too which is just fantastic.
