About MichelleLeaverJewels

On Etsy since 2020

Michelle designs and hand makes all of her jewellery. She uses precious metals, enamel and stones and her work is inspired by Nature, 🦋

Hello, I’m Michelle and I have been designing and making contemporary jewellery for over 30 years now. It is so fulfilling for me, being a jeweller who firstly, gets an idea in her head, then makes it and then the feeling of achievement, when someone wants to own that piece of jewellery. It’s not saving lives but it does give me a sense of achievement and to know that someone is enjoying the piece is just wonderful. My jewellery is inspired by nature, particularly the sea but also I hope that you feel something spiritual when you look at the work. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Sizing details

Michelle can make any of her rings in your size. Please state the size required at Checkout. It also would be very helpful if you could also let me know if you used a narrow ring sizer (approx: 3mm in width) or a wide ring sizer (approx: 6mm in width) . This ensures the perfect fit.
If you require a Ring Sizer, please message me. 🦋

Care instructions

All Michelle’s jewellery is made from precious metal. When you receive your jewellery it will come with a polishing cloth to make it lovely and
sparkly, if ever it should need it.

If your jewellery has oxidised areas, please don’t try and polish those. Just the shiny parts.

Enamel is very strong and absolutely fine in water. With the enamel rings, please take them off if you are lifting heavy and hard objects as it can put pressure on the shape of the ring which in turn can upset the enamel.

Any issues or questions please feel free to message me.

Gift wrapping and packaging

All Michelle’s jewellery comes in a beautiful gift box with a polishing cloth included.

Can I return my jewellery if I change my mind?

Of course! 🙂 Please see details in my Returns Policy.

Is the oxidisation permanent on my jewellery?

No, oxidisation is not completely permanent, it will wear away to a certain extent, to a patina, unique to you, which is a beautiful concept, as you play a part in its ‘evolvement’. This is much more the case with some of my rings as they are in constant contact with surfaces as you wear them but having said that I can restore the original look, free of charge if you desire. ( Postage not included.)

Are the colours in your jewellery exactly as in the photos.

I try my very best to get photos which reflect the exact colours. I use the same enamel colours as in the photos, getting outside as well as studios shots so that you get a really good idea of the colours. Please note that with the oxidised jewellery, in some shots, it can appear ‘black’ but it is more a dark, smoke grey in reality.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

What is Enamel?

Enamel is essentially glass but also has other ingredients such as flux, frit and oxides. Enamelling is an ancient technique and is very formidable including being water proof. Extra care has to be taken with enamelled rings as they are constantly hitting hard surfaces. Ensure removing your ring when lifting heavy objects as this can mishap the ring which can in turn affect the enamel.
