Handmade Jewellery in North Wales

MidasTouch Jewels designs use the inspiration of the North Wales coast and mountains to create stunning jewellery. Pieces are made in a fusion of silver, gold and flamework glass or aluminium, all created in the MidasTouch workshop, based in Conwy, North Wales.
I have been making jewellery for many years, after a long career lecturing and the NHS, I now give my full attention to jewellery making. My work has been featured in Marie Claire Magazine and several shows such as Top Drawer Earls Court, London; the British Craft Trade Fair, Harrogate; the International Eisteddfod, Llangollen; Theatre Clwyd, Mold; the Royal Cambrian Art Gallery, Conwy; and several local libraries. I take part in the Helfa Gelf Art Trail every year, opening my workshop to visitors for the month of September each year gives me the chance to meet new people, catch up with friends and share my work with others.
I put my teaching skills to work by running small group workshops including: Making Silver Jewellery, Silver Clay and Make Your Own Wedding Rings. Please ask at the reception for more details.
MidasTouch what's in a name? Midas Touch was a much loved golden retriever who shared our lives for 3 brief years before succumbing to Leukaemia, so his memory lives on. Now we have two more 'goldies' to brighten our lives.
A new career opportunity - After a career in the NHS I became a Lecturer in a college. 20 years later I lost my voice! Not just your usual laryngitis I was voiceless for 4 years. Obviously I had to retire from lecturing and found that the jewellery making hobby I had started 10 years previously was a life saver. I went and hid in my workshop for a year and then decided I needed to do something with my life so I started MidasTouch Jewels. I sell my work through Etsy with a link from my website; display in local galleries and gift shops and take part in annual exhibitions. I love teaching and have found a niche for myself with one to one workshops. The maximum people at a workshop is 2 people meaning that I can give people my full attention and support in designing and making their own ideas into wearable jewellery in silver, gold, glass or aluminium.
